Anyone else's work "upgraded" recently and having headaches?

Every action within MS products on our laptops is currently talking about 10 seconds.
Move the mouse and 10 seconds later the cursor moves across the screen.
Try to change something and nothing happens so you do it again. 10 seconds later you realise the first thing has happened and your second action has done something you didn't intend but you can't always tell what it was.
It's driving me nuts.

I get a lot of that on my home PC when the Windows update takes place, usually Tuesday or Wednesday.
