I'm having a bit of an hiatus from Golf for a bit. I went on a lad's Golf weekend a few weeks ago and to cut a long story short I got absolutely blind drunk on the last day. I mean falling down, sick everywhere could not stand drunk. One of the lad's got me home in a car I think...I have no idea but I am so embarrassed I dare not show my face at the club. A few of the lads have rung to ask how I was after the event and said do not worry as we have all been there and bought the tee shirt at some time in our lives but as much as I appreciate the sentiment and concern it hasn't helped. It is my own fault I know, I'm a Muppet, I know. I should know better, I know, serves me right, I know. I think it is gonna take a fair while before I can venture up to the course again....knob!!

LOL, been there and done that mate. Get back on the horse and take the banter for a while. You'll get more respect for fronting up to it...:D

Definitely been there mate, try not to let it bother you too much.
You might get a bit of friendly banter but it'll all be forgotten by the 12th.
Might want to go steady in the 19th tho

Nothing worse than that feeling when you wake up and think "Oh my word, what did I do last night?"

Scared to check your phone and stuff like that

I think weve all done it at some point and it feels bad until you get out there and show your face. Once the initial mickey take has gone its back to normal. The longer you dwell about it the more depressing it feels.

A bit like the Tiger Woods incident mate, you're better off walking straight into clubhouse on Saturday morning and taking a good bit of stick then it's over and you can get on with playing golf!

The anticipation of pain is always worse than the pain itself!

Man up and get back in, we have all gotten completely plonkered fella, it happens.....no really, it does.
Anyone who hasnt, really hasnt been on an enjoyable golf trip then :D

You could always join us at Moortown or Moor Allerton over the weekend. :D

Yep! Don't go for the Golf though - as you are 'off' that (will there be any Golf on show?) - just the drinking!

Never quite had that experience, but know a man who has. He was marginally better in his birthday bash on Saturday, but is likely to lose it again at the end of the month on a Ryder Cup 2-day-er.

My closest was at Le Touquet at 08:30 after finishing the Cognac vs Armagnac match  at 04:30!

He's right. Otherwise you will worry about it for weeks, and then still cop a load of stick. Might as well get it over with, and join in the banter. I am of course not talking from experience.

The way I'm reading it, you did what the rest of us have all done at some point (well, all except Richart, obviously :D ) away from home. So why are you hiding from the club? It's not like you threw up over the Captain, is it (did you.... :o ). Longer you stay away the worse it will be when you return as the level of your reported misbehaviour will be further exaggerated in your absence by your mates over their post match beer.

Got hammered at our away weekend last week, by far the most drunk, had "words" with the captain's son and by the next morning everyone was laughing and asking how my head was. It's all part and parcel of away weekend. :)

Get back to the club, take the flak before during and after the game and take it like a man. As long as you did nothing to bring the name of your club into disrepute which could potentially land you in bother at some clubs I know then crack on and live with it

How was the hangover?
