Odyssey back Stryke putters

I had a go but they just didnt feel or look right to my eye, I'm too much of a traditionalist I think

I had a go with one a while back and found it extremely stable - not quite but alomost impossible to move it off a straight line....

It's just the look.........

As the owner of a fugly but effective centre-shafted putter, I'd say try it. I know 2 players who found it a huge improvement over their existing weapons.

If it works, then it's right for you. Trial without Prejudice!

If it knocks the ball into the hole use it. Simples.

Which is my feeling, my lag putting isn't good and I read somewhere the back stryke style promotes better ball roll.

I have a sexy sleek blade rife, I have a nice half mallet del mar styled rife, both are sexy but my putting stats are not good. Would I rather look at a monster and putt less...... Looking at the amount of pros using big mallet putters on tour it tells you something.... Donald.... The best putter out there using a monster!

I can understand the idea of them, but they feel very strange to use. I can't see them ever being that popular. I'm sure they can produce consistent results but they always seem to have a detached feel to them compared to a more tradition shaft option. I always putt with the ball in-between my left foot and centre so I wouldn't necessarily see as much benefit from it anyway.

Not got but did try one out and really liked it. I was very tempted but decided to stick with mine. They are ugly and look very odd when looking down at the ball but had great results on the putting green, also I've seen some great offers for them at less than £60. I'm talking myself into one now! Lol

Eve's, the best I've found is 79.00 which is half price, if you have any better links please forward via pm..... I fancy a Xmas gift... To oddsocks, from odd socks,

I am very glad you posted this question.
Like you my putting has been awful, I went to the local golf shop & had a feel & a swish with lots of different putters & tried them on the artificial putting mat, they all felt just no different to all my previous 5 or 6 putters.
Until I picked up a Backstryke, it was love at first feel, it felt just so right in my hands, I don't think it's that ugly either.

Anyway, I mulled it over for a while & kept looking on E-Bay, I ended up with a virtually brand new 34" Backstyke Marksman.
Even on the soaking wet greens the improvement was obvious & it felt lovely in my hands.
I have used it for a few rounds now & got used to the feel & pace of it, all I can say is wow, what a putter.
Never mind banning long putters, this thing ought to be banned, it's lethal.

I just cannot miss with it over a sensible distance, even the silly long ones across the other side of the green I am getting to within gimme range.
I originally liked the looks & feel of the Sabretooth, but the Marksman came up first on E-Bay in the right condition & price, I am really glad I got it now, it has saved my putting, (I paid about £54.00 for it)

What ever you do, just get one. you will be amazed at the results.

Right.

Not long back from AG (Picking up dads prezzie) and paid a visit to the putter section.

My verdict, not too bad at all.

Nice feel off the face. Stupid easy to line up and very stable through the swing.

Tried the D.A.R.T version, and was thoroughly impressed

The only thing I didn't like was the alignment aid. Didn't like that but it worked well for sure!
