Played today with a couple of pals and saw summat today I will probably never see again.
a playing partner knocked his ball (2nd shot) to within 18" of the bell you ring to say next players behind can tee off. Lo and behold I knobed my second and put it three foot the other side of the bell. I promptly knocked mine out 30 ft sideways to have a shot at the green.
he then smackers his ball out of the 12" grass and two balls flew out. He had not seen a previously unseen lost ball below his which went as far as his (20ft).
us three were in bits laughing.
PS, spoke to club sec who said no penalty shots but it was funny.

Funny you should mention that as it happened to me a few weeks ago.

On our 4th a pushed my drive into the cabbage but managed to avoid the OOB markers.

It had a horrible lie so a tried to whack it with my wedge as powerfully as i could. It felt horrible as made contact and resulted in two balls flying out about 3 foot.

Another weird one was about 4 years ago.

Me and my PP both hit fairly long drives, which faded (baby sliced) just off the fairway. Upon approaching our balls were actually touching each other nestled in the medium rough.

His ball was about an 8th of an inch further than mine, so the git claimed longest drive ha. He marked his ball and a took my shot, then his laughter stopped as he realized he would have to play from my very fresh divot...

Would imagine the changes of that happening are fairly slim

Edit - just thinking. I had the same PP both times. Weird

Same guy over last winter hit his wedge from 50 yd to pin 15 yd left. It hit my carry bag and landed in the mesh pocket at the side of me bag.

me and" Baghead" another PP were in fits of laughter leaning against one another.
bloke who hit shot was livid, coz he thought it was two penalty shots. Someone told me it was no penalty shots, but never chased up where ball should of been re dropped from.
