lucky for us the 2011 strokeplay comp has been re-scheduled for roughly the middle of next month so only a month to go before my first comp

it's a 36 hole comp and its with low handicap players so i'm expecting to play well,i hope so anyway.i'm not fussed about winning it as there is some good players but i'm hoping to get cut especially as the css should go up....it should do but you never know.

i'm hoping everyone is rusty from the winter layoff and that they haven't been playing that much.i know the club champion hasn't been playing but known my luck he'll come out and shoot under par:lol:

anyway my plan this winter has been to play once a week and so far i have stuck to that and i'm happy with the way i am playing.i layed 9 yesterday in +2 with a few mistakes,hitting it really well.a few things i'll work on nearer the time will be my short game and bunker play.my bunker play is usually quite good but it's the longer bunker shot i want to work on,from say 20-30 yrds.

That's what I love about winter golf and non qualifiers as it's quality time to work on my game and improve it without stressing about handicap and/or not committing to the changes. I had a lesson today and my coach played my swing from November split-screen with it now and it is unrecognisable as the same golfer in terms of the backswing and position at the top - great to see and a real confidence boost. It's been hard work though and not without it's dips but I've stuck with it and will reap the rewards come spring.
