Not enough time in swing

Good question.
Drop club behind - because I come over (out to in) too much.
Lag - because I get no lag and don't get the distance I should be getting. I know distance isn't everything but I've got long levers and have average distances. When I see the swing and when others do it's evidence there's zero lag.
Hips - as I either sway or keep them still and they get in the way.

Not so sure about the need to worry about the lag. Dan Whittaker has done a few videos on this https://www.youtube.com/user/dfw1500/videos

I agree with the more experienced and swing educated that you probably need to simplify everything and work with a good pro to get mechanics simplified and functional

Not enough time, I know exactly what you mean!

I have been working hard to improve my swing recently, moving from a flat in to out to a neutral swing with a big turn.

During the lesson I found it impossible to do more than one thing at once. I would either do something too early, too late or not at all.

However perseverance did pay off. It took 5-10 swings but I could add things one by one. I don't have any swing thoughts now, just know where to be and where to go.

I do forget things, sometimes forgetting to turn! Trust me that working on one thing at once then adding bit by bit to build up to a change works. Takes 5-15 swings between each addition but it worked for me.
