I played today for the first time in about 18 months and boy it has gone down hill. those who don't know his course it is a 9 hole course which has one best 9 hole course in the uk a few times the course it based on famous holes over the world I.e Augusta etc
Before when I played it there was an old boy at the start making sure who have paid and your wearing the correct clothing and he also give you a pitch mark repairer and tells you to repair all divots but know thAt same old boy seems to be doing ten different jobs so he can't concentrate on doing this any more also they require to play at a reasonable standard ( must be able to play around 100 over 18 ) but they was
Eating anyone play. We was stuck behind a 3 ball who would honestly hit the ball 20-30 yards every shot and that wasn't straight either. We almost got hit but balls twice without any fore call so I told them if you think it's going near me or you lose sight of it then you should shout FOUR.
The bunkers had hardly any sand in them and full of stones and the greens were full of pitch marks. We played 27 holes and got stuck behind beginners every time. I have not got anything against starters playing but what happened to the strict rules ????
Also when we was on the 4th hole and could see the 1st tee there was a que of about 25-30 people waiting to tee off. I would expect to see this on a council public course but not on a course of this supposed to be high standard.
On the plus side I used my mizunos mp32 and they were fantastic.
The Course could be great but they have lost all pride in keeping it as the best 9 hole course in the uk.
