non conforming drivers / clubs

I had a non-conforming TM R580 and it went at least 25 yards further than my current square Nike Dymo 2, which is well overdue an upgrade.

Gave the R580 to my mate who plays about 5 times a year and goes round in about 130. He'll never have any intention of joining a club nevermind playing in a comp.

I've also played with a few club members who have have non-conforming ones - a Cobra 370 being one of them - and have no intention of playing in comps either. Most of their golf is amongst their own group, with their own 'handicaps' or an occasional outing with similarly equipped guys. As posted, the 'conforming' drivers are now far better performing overall, but little point spending 3 months subscription merely to change a 'random' number!

If you saw someone[ in a offical comp] using a club you knew was definitely nonconforming.
Would you say to the player or report him ?? .

No. I wouldn't notice or care really.

Unfortunately the Boom Boom driver is legal - it's using the heating element in the head over that isn't.

Yeah I thought it was just the heated head cover. Even then, I'd be unsure what it looks like!
