Nicklaus backing Tiger

Nicklaus has been saying this for the last two or three years. He seems to think that Woods has so much time left that there is an air of inevitability about it. I don't necessarily think its as clear cut anymore.
Woods clearly has swing issues, be it technical or physical and so if he is rebuilding the swing again may not be competitive in majors for another season or two. There are a lot of young pretenders coming through now and a few seasoned veterans enjoying Indian summers to their careers so the fields may be getting tougher. Finally now that he has a family is the desire to keep playing, practicing and more importantly travelling away still going to burn as intensely. He is made for life and would be in demand for other challenges like course design so if his knees or back etc start to become too problematical he could walk away.
I think he'll end up winning maybe more than Nicklaus but I really think the next few are going to be the hardest to achieve.

Agreed Homer. I think the next few are going to be hard. We may see him stuck on 17 or 18 (Majors, that is.) I certainly don't think that you or I will see another golfer eclipse Jack or Tiger. Not Kim. Not Rory. It's too competitive nowadays and golf is a real international sport.
