nick faldo

I would have loved Tiger to have been around when Faldo was at his best. That would have created quite a few ding dong matches.

Faldo would have been Tigers toilet paper. Not even in the same class, Tiger is a better golfer and a bigger shagger wins hands down on both counts!

I like the 'concept' of Faldo, just don't really like him as a commentator. He was a hard worker and a grinder and I respect that a lot. I'd love to have a one-to-one with him as he's probably not quite himself in front of a camera.

im scottish and almost ashamed at some of the comments about faldo.
the guy is the closest thing to a golfing legend we will ever get in this country in our lifetimes.
okay tiger woods [who i also admire] would probably be a class above 'faldo' but thats not to say faldo could not have beaten him to many majors all things being equal.
in terms of modern day golfers faldo sits behind tiger and tom watson only and ahead of greats like greg norman and seve.......thats how good faldo is/was.
his tv work is also pretty good and his warbling has improved in recent years..hes actually quite funny amongst his pretty square american contemparies.
faldo is a legend and he loves scotland.always has..the dunlop cup thing he was proved correct and won.have you ever tried to win a world cup for your country in fading light...no?...so shut up then!

What was this dunlop cup you speak of? Before my time obviously.

No argument with the fact Foldo was a great, great golfer but that does not stop him being a tit of a man.

it was a team[countries] competition played at st andrews in the late 1980s.
i believe faldo dragged a semi final against scotland back the next morning despite being on the 17th or 18th....could have been sandy lyle he was playing but i cant remember.
anyway the scots crowd were none too happy.
typical faldo me thinks, makes the correct decision at the correct time.i dont think there has ever been a better 'thinker' around the golf course.
to my mind he was 100% correct and if memory serves me right he won the match the next day and almost single handedly won the trophy for england.
i do believe at the masters play off in 1989 he was about to do the same thing against scott hoch but he then nailed a 30 foot putt and won it anyway.
its a shame he makes so much money out of american tv networks because it has deprived us the chance to still see him on the seniors tour and majors he is exempt from....i miss him

i think seve was the only player faldo was secretly in awe of.
faldo looked up to seve but as a fellow competitor was never going to show it too much whilst they were both active rivals.
faldo was the ultimate competitor,he never wasted a shot,he got the maximum out of his talent unlike some of the big mouths around in his time....'let your clubs do the talking' !!!!!!!!!

I think Nick is fantastic,he got up everybodys back when he was playing, and he gets up everybodys back when he's commantating on golf,he's a winner, and until some other guy steps to the plate, hes the best we've had.

Legend, look at his Ryder cup record. Had Greg Norman for breakfast at the 90 open and I do dispute that tiger was a class above him TBH

Nothing like speaking pants to bend the story to suit your needs.

It was against Ireland, Des Smyth if my memory is not mistaken. I'll also sure he came back out the next day and LOST.

Ireland went onto win with Ronan Rafferty stating something along the lines that they deserved to win it and Smyth was a hero.

Stick to facts.
