Honours board competition this weekend and having seen the chaps at RSG getting a tad damp and blustered this morning I checked the weather. Current prediction for Saturday morning is 30mph wind and heavy rain

A normal day on the links for those north of the border but not the kind of forecast I was hoping for. I think CSS may go up +1 or +2...

Anyone else venturing out to play in wind swept conditions this weekend?

Brilliant! Pontius and I are off down there Saturday morning...oh well, I'm sure the bubbly will go down well whatever the weather ;)

You are coming to watch the Ron Hawkins Stableford at Waldringfield and you are bringing Champers. Happy days, I think you should follow my three ball round for the day ;)

If you meant you are going to The Open then its veritably tropical down there just 23mph wind and heavy rain

I've played in windy conditions 25mph+ wind with over 30mph gusts, the round was awful, the plus side that day was that it was warm, sunny and dry.

I've played in the rain, and even being in a buggy, wearing wet weather gear, the round was awful, the plus side was it wasn't windy and the rain was coming straight down.

To look at the weather and voluntarily go out in heavy rain and strong winds, you'd have more chance of me getting a hole in one on the first par 3 of my local course (hole 3) and completing the dressed as a garden gnome than heading out to the course.

Me thinks golf this weekend will involve TV, and a good supply of beer and bacon sandwiches :D

Regards
Dave

Ha ha, could you imagine us doing that??!! Maybe we should do that one day at each others clubs and get loads of followers! That should get the members talking.

Genius :D

cancelled my round sunday as very wet with possible thunder/lightning. As it was just a friendly knock I really cba getting everything wet, possible delays and no doubt playing cack!!!

Well it was 24 degrees and very sunny in East Lothian today, you can keep Kent!

I've played in three "Open" competitions over the last month or so. Bloody wind has been howling each time.
Played at Dale Hill on Wednesday, 138yd par 3 into the teeth of it. I had originally pulled a 7 iron out, my mate Ray went first and hit his 7 well, came up well short. Anthony went with a full bloodied 6 and still came up short. We won't talk about Roy!
I collared a 5 iron but pulled it left, hit the cart path and finished pin high in some really long crap...

Our fourball walked off the hole with 1 point between us as I managed to oink it onto the green from my shite lie and two putt.
So 4 guys playing a 138 yard hole walked off with one point between them. Championship winning stuff.. :o :o :o :o :o :o
