4th best team in England....FACT...not opinion.

Another great win today 3-0 against horrible non footballing Stoke City

Papiss Cisse 11 goals in 10 games..............7 games in a row he's scored in....a Premier League RECORD.

5 clean sheets in 6 games.....very un-Newcastle United.

3 cockney teams Arsenal Spurs and Chelsea all really rather nervous it incase they missed out on the 'Champions' League.

All gone a bit quiet on the "cockney mafia" "Ashley/pardew out" hasn't it!?

Seriously though a great season for them, hope they end up in the champions league

just watching highlights on our equivelent of MoD, some pass from Cabaye & some 3rd goal .. seeing as we have been discussing pens & cheating , in the 2nd half either ba or cisse took a beauty on his chest & as he went to shoot he got shouldered in the back .. he stayed up & no pen . so no reward for the honest ones ..

sorry mate do not like pardew at all , good team ther now tho, be good to see ye get 4th

Not heard this for a while....
Get out of our club - get out of our club -
You fat Cockney B*****d Get of our Club.

Better get my passport renewed :whoo:

Congratulations, just make sure you get through the qualifiers unlike our blue friends back in 2005.

:)

First good season in ages.

Pardew and Ashley have done a fantastic job despite the neanderthals saying otherwise a bit back.

Enjoy it while it lasts.Still amazed that such a 'big' club have won nothing for years and years.

In the net!! ;)

All this big club talk is nonsense, they're a well supported club but nowhere near a big club.

The definition of a big club to me is one that's not only won domestic trophies but also won European trophies and competed at that level over a period of time.

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are bigger clubs than Newcastle IMO.

I was taking the piss, thought it would be a bar coder that would have bitten first though!:whoo:

Would be interesting if short lived to see Newcastle in the CL next year. No-one has a divine right to be in it and you have to earn your place. Frankly Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs aren't doing enough to get there

Stuart.

Newcastle are one of the biggest clubs in the premier league and what some clubs may have done in the past is irrelevant. Leeds and Forrest are former shadows of the team they used to be and Villa aren't exactly setting the world on fire. Over the last 20 years you may also find that Newcastle have also qualified for Europe and been in more cup finals than Villa so I don't understand how Villa come into the equation.

In 2010-2011, Newcastle had the third best attendence in the Premier League with an average gate of 47,717.

In 2011-2012, have retained the third best attendence in the Premier League with an average gate of 49,660.

The only teams with better attendences are Manchester United and Arsenal. If you look at debt and financial stability Newcastle are now in one of the best positions in the League.

The club may not have won as many trophies as some teams however when it comes to support and revenue Newcastle are up there with the best in Europe, and when the new financial rulings come in regarding European qualification Newcastle will have very little to worry about unlike some of the more prestigious teams who depend on bailouts from their benefactors to balance the books.

The team has done fantastic this year and when you consider we are missing key players like Taylor and Marvaux the future is looking very good.

Dave, I'm not doubting this seasons performances of your team or how well run financially your club is but please don't tell me that Newcastle FC are a " big club".

Believe it or not football started way before 1992 regardless of what sky might tell you. Football is all about winning trophies not how many finals you get to or people come to watch or having 1 great season in 17 yrs.

Big clubs are built with a big European pedigree not just winning a 2nd division title.

Forest and Villa qualified for the European cup by winning the league not finishing 30 pts behind the winners.

You're obviously defining a "big club" as well supported.

To me "big clubs" are the likes of juventus, bayern Munich, real Madrid, Barcelona, man utd etc.

I used to go and watch Newcastle fairly often when living in Edinburgh, a well supported club they certainly are but, in my opinion, not a big club.

But they're the 3rd best attended club in the premier league!

Not sure what your point is?

Aberdeen were the 3rd biggest supported club in Scotland in the 80's and 90's but won hee haw (relatively speaking) durin that time, I.e after fergie left

There are teams in turkey I can't pronounce that have the same support as Newcastle but they aren't, to me, big clubs
