Lots of rumours but I actually think it's all rumours at the moment. The proposed McLaren development would see the course losing 3/4 of the golf course but it seems to all be in the very early consultation stages

You have to admire the two-faced hypocrisy of one of the local councillors. She has spent the last three years banging on about Woking needing more housing. Then this proposal comes up, she lives opposite the course and has been in charge of the protests against it.

The local aerodrome, Fairoaks, has also been sold. My mate reckoned that is where the McLaren enlargement will go as they are next door to it according to him

I used to cover the McLaren team in the mid 1980s when I was with the Surrey Advertiser and their location was a much smaller place almost in Woking town centre. Went down there once and Niki Lauda was taking calls on reception having lost a bet with the two women there over a Grand Prix result.

I heard this and that they plan to keep the airstrip to fly the drivers/VIP's in and no paparazzi

I used to live just down the road from their Boundary Rd base. Having moved to the West Country in the mid 80s I could not believe the size of the place they built on the old Sorbo works on Sheerwater in comparison when I went past it some years later. I presume from the point about them being next to Fairoaks they now have another or bigger base.
