Mine will be to aggressively hunt down those pesky birdies.

I used to be so par-obsessed that I lagged everything. Recently, I've been making a few with my new, much heavier putter. Never up, never in.

Thats a great one! I am doing exactly that at moment. Striking some great irons in and then tenderly lagging the birdie chance. I have a real fear of 3 putting for a bogey!

If I can resolve that and make my bad drives, less punishing, then I will be a happy man and fingers crossed the handicap will fall.

To stop swearing quite so much on the course, and try and enjoy it more.

This will be helped when I can get to the course without driving through the melee of idiots going xmas shopping, who are between me and the course, adding 1/2 hour to what should be a 15 minute drive.

Also:

To go a year without breaking anything (course records excepted).

To loose less balls.

To accept loosing balls with good grace.

To not want to punch my playing partners when they say 'that's in' when it clearly isn't.

To loose my slice.

To loose my pull left

To loose my duck hook.

To not quit on chip shots.

To loose my shank, again.

To swing slower than a strimmer.

Can't think of anymore at the mo, but may post again later.

To learn my swing so that when it starts to falter under pressure I can stand there and trust that the hours of practice have paid off and that the swing I make will be good.

To sharpen my short game

To hit more shots from 70-100 closer than 10 feet

To play with patience and good grace

hit the 610 yard Par 5 in two

If you manage it can you put it on youtube. Me and a mate were thinking about filming an eagle attempt in the summer (on one of our par 5s). We could mock it up quite easily. Trouble is I'd end up lagging the putt to make a sure birdie!

610 my, my, that's a royal flush for me Driver-3wood-5wood (maybe a 3H) the ultimate birdie/par on a long hole.

610 yards in 2 shots? I am a big hitter when I catch it right but i'll be buggered if I think I could ever dream of being able to do that. My best of the best (1 in 1000!) drives roll to 300 if conditions are perfect i.e tailwind and plenty of roll. A flush 3 wood would probably be around 250ish but again that is my absolute sunday best.

To hit 2 of the best shots in succession would be like winning the lottery on wednesday and saturday, it ain't going to happen. Still even If I did this I would be 60yds short!!!

I would go driver, 3 wood, 6 iron and be grateful for even a par on such a beast of a hole.

My longest ever Drive was 330yrds . I remember it well as it blasted through the group in front of me whoops! And My longest ever three wood was 270. So im still 10 yards short, maybe a members bounce will help!! Pretty sure the only eagle on this hole will be holing out the chip!
