Its just over two weeks until the night start to get longer and about three weeks until the new year and I am wondering what new year golfing resolutions will you be setting yourselves for 2008?

Personally, I need to keep the driver in the bag when I am faced with a tight par four instead of lashing out and scoring a double bogie. And possibly focus more on course management.

What will yours be?

Mine is to try and play slightly within my limits more.

My main problem is trying to hit the ball soooooo hard with my driver that my accuracy is compromised. The guys at the range are always nagging me about this.

Apart from that I just need to play more, being a hands-on daddy means I neglect playing too much, I get plenty of practice but the range alone doesn't make you a competent golfer.

Much stricter pre-shot routine, slow down and take more club, it's the same every year!

Im going to play more and more , make use of the lite evenings in the summer. Concentrate on every shot like its a major.

Hope I'm not stuck behind you then!

Thats another thing. I've got to stop hitting drivers 200yrds out of the rough over a lake and expecting it to leave me a birdie put.

I want to try and ejoy my golf again instead of puting myself under too much pressure or scrutiny.

As for madandra keeping the big dog in the bag, i started that towards the end of last season and it certainly makes a difference.

Mind you, New Years Resolutions only last a few days usually!

My biggy is to get my driving back under control, Ive been using the 4 and 5 wood more and if it wasnt for hitting them a little higher than I would like then i ditch the driver altogether as I do hit them a fair crack (even if I do say so myself!)
I am also thinking about my irons, I seem to remember hitting my old revolutions and tzoid pro tour II's further and just as accurately. maybe the rifle 6.0's are a little stiff for me so might trade in and up for something a little newer.
Love the comments on he putting, if you learn to knock them closer in the first place, putting gets easier.

Im going play in more tournaments. I figure that the more i play in the less important they will feel, so i will perhaps relax more as i am used to them! Thats the idea anyway.
