ok, so in the new year, i am moving down to plymouth to live with my girlfriend and for work reasons. am going to join china fleet golf club, just over the river in saltash.
they have a few options for members. i reckon i plan on playing 2/3 times a month at weekends and over summer/easter holidays maybe 2 times a week.
so for a trad membership it is £671 a year, flex membership is £200 then £12/round in summer and £9/round in winter OR being in the forces I get to play there for £10 a round anyway, so dont join and just play/pay.
which would you choose and why? and pros/cons of each.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!!

played china fleet a couple years ago on our cornwall tour, not a bad course at all,you will enjoy it there, they have a gym and swimming pool etc there if that all comes with full membership i would choose that, if your gonna be away out the country for 4 months of the year go for the pay and play

The amount you intend to play you would be better off on the full membership you would only have to play 40 odd rounds on top of your 200 quid to get to the full membership. Better to get a handicap and play comps than just play pay and play.

Go and talk to the Secretary. Explain your circumstances and tell him you'd like to be a full member but are reluctant because of the time away. Ask him if there's another option that would fit around your commitments, and see what he says.

I'd pay and play for a few months until you see wether your going to like it and if you get to know people there and if you get into it and don't want to leave join half way through the year and pay pro rata. I joined my club for the last 5 months of the year thinking that I will know what I want to do by April.

Jus thought st mellion isn't far from there either could be worth a look. They got 2courses there. Or go to the AG in plym best AG I been to Scott the pro in there will know other courses up that way

yeah, ive seen scott in AG, had my first lesson with him. been based down there for 8 years and played china fleet a few times and most of my mates that play are members there. havent played st mellion, but a mate is a member there, so he has said he will be taking me out as soon as im back to work.

I was raised in the Plymouth area and it is Gods Little Acre. Where ever you decide to play you should have a great experience.
