Had been looking at GPS devices for a while after the future father inlaw got one for xmas and after the mrs to be offered to buy it for me i cudnt turn it down. So i had narrowed it down to the s1 watch, the SGX and also the older SG5. Down to the local independant golf shop who's generally better than your AG's or NB's i went and ended up walking out with Golf Buddy World Golf Gps. Just found the SGX to be too big. Extremely pleased and gona try and head out for a few holes tomo night to try and get hang of it.

hope it works well havent looked back since getting my sgx last year really useful piece of kit, now all ive got to do is figure out how to hit the distance it tells me!! :-)

they do come in handy. my mate had a golf gps app and i used it today for a shot. pulled my drive way left onto different fairway and he gave me a yardage of 215 to center of green. put 5 iron back in bag and selected 4 and cut a lovely shot over trees, rode the wind and cleared the bunker by a couple of feet. sunk the putt for a bird on SI 1! without the yardage i was in the bunker no doubt.

still morally against them though!

Don't see any 'moral' objections to GPS devices that simply give yardages and nothing else. They are merely an electronic yardage chart. Surely you don't object to paper yardage charts, such as the shotsavers sold in many club pro shops, so what is different if it is electronic?

Cheers pbrown, hoping it helps me, did like the sgx but think its just a bit big and think other members wud think im on mobile or summit! Lol. Gary i didnt really agree or disagree with them until played in a foursomes with a mate who had one and it changed my opinion bigstyle. Its either for you or not but it def changed my mind and my mates was a sg2.5.
