New Shineys today

Doubt there will be a massive difference unless one set was custom fitted and the other wasn't, even that would be debatable for some : rolleyes :

What will not be in doubt is the effect of a nice shiny new set of the latest irons, I have heard there is no feeling like it (yet to experience it).

Good luck with them and I hope they aid you in coming down further!

Today is a good day! I purchased new shineys a month or so ago. Didn't make me play any better but the psychological boost made it a good round.

Break them in gently - new sticks can take a bit of time to love.

When I first changhed to the burners it was a bit of a mindgame as when I caught them sweet they went through the green - mix that with a few duffs and the first few round were nothing to write home about.

Since then I have learnt to love them and overall I think they have helped me to move on a notch

As for the hybrid I have had for half a year now its been in the naughty corner untl last night when I finally decided that I was hitting it consistently enough to put it in the bag instead of the 5 wood.

Stick with them and they will pay you back (thumbsup smiley)

Took them out and peeled off the plastic sticky off the 3 iron and wacked it 205 down the middle of the fairway (slight breeze helping)...good start then!

Continued round the rest of the course and they felt like old friends after about 5 holes....they will be staying in the bag and just put the old set on ebay. Really pleased with them....so of to Castle Stuart tomorrow, Gullane 1 on Saturday, North Berwick on Sunday and Kingsbarns on Monday.....

Pleased i bought these and not the TM MC irons which was my other choice so i have the forumers to thank for that as most advised to go for the Pings. They do feel different (a bit lighter) than the i15s and a little softer out of the sweet spot...very close (but not quite) like a forging. I do like the extra bit of feedback i get with these compared with a forging.

Yes very happy with the selection! (Huge smiley grin)

when you say 205 down the middle do you mean you duffed it off the first tee and it rolled 205 yards due to it being at Fortrose?

SMILE.

Surprised by that, you should get more feedback from forged clubs.

I would have also recommended Pings over the TM's but I would have gone for S56's, they are really lovely clubs.

And finally, enjoy Kingsbarns, I played it 2 weeks ago and it is tremendous.

Glad you like them and I hope they keep feeling sweet! It is lovely to get new shinys!
