I am in the mood for buying a new putter. I currently have an Oddyssey #9 mallet, or a Mizuno Bettinardi anser type. I do not like or want any of the following: branding irons, white coloured ones, any of the belly ones. I am after an anser-type looking one or a half mallet, either straight metal or with an insert. I like a putter with feel off the club-face. It has to be one that can be tweaked to about 4 degrees flatter (short legs). I know it is a totally personal thing, so I will be going to AG to try some out this week, but have any of you got any suggestions? AG currently have a sale on the Nike Method #2, and I have always liked the look of some of the Yes putters.
Oh, and I can't afford Scotty, top range Ping etc.

I like the look of the counter balance two ball odessey putter.

Mizuno MP putter range (the original silver headed ones rather than the "funkier" looking new black ones)

Top drawer but can pick them up stupidly cheap.

They do all of the traditional shapes.

So....Nike Method or Yes it is then.
Seriously though, does it need to be new? If you open up the possibility of a used putter, then you could end up with a decent enough Ping or Cameron.. Or...whatever.

No, it doesn't have to be new, but I worry about authenticity when buying second hand.

I wouldn't worry too much about older Ping models - I've yet to see a fake Anser 2 in stainless with could fit your needs rather well. I picked up mine a few years ago for about a tenner.

Forgot to say I have an old Ping Pal2, which must be about 15+ years old. I bring it out every once in a while, but it seems to lack feel.

I believe Yes say that they will only adjust the lie of their putters by + or - 2 degrees, so that may be an issue. Ping I believe do a much wider range of adjustment so it may be worth looking at their range.

It's + or - 3 degrees to be exact so not far out but as YES Golf UK doesn't exist any more the local pro would be the first port of call.

I have a YES! i4 tech callie, its the new one with metal face still, but has a bronze effect. I love it, so much better than my old face insert TM one!

+ 1... Top class putter at rock bottom prices. I picked one up second hand for £42 + P&P.

Try the Wilson Staff 888 range, I picked up a half-mallet 8883 from TheGolfShopOnline for £35 delivered as they are on clearance.

Cracking putter for the money imo, and 34" shaft might suit.

Thanks for the replies guys. Have just borrowed a Wilson 8876 half mallet, which looks like the forerunner to your 8883. Putts well on the carpet at home, but will try it out tomorrow on the proper stuff. Looks quality as well.

I'm due a bonus from work. I love my Odyssey #7 and am really fancying a new #7 milled model. They are coming down, slowly in price I cannot resist much longer.
