I tried the new pro V1X last night after finally exhuasting my supply of the older model. I was more than a little worried about this as all I have heard are negative comments about the new ball. But to my amazement I think the new ball is even better than the old ball, I found it to be very long with lots of feel and lots of control and really good to putt with.

So if you are also hovering don't be scared they are really good

No hovering around here. I should think most on here will never need to try such a ball!!

I've been using the Pro V (new) and it's a great ball.

It was my birthday yesterday and I got two dozen Wilson Ultra. :(

What a dreadful gift, some people just don't think do they. I got a box of 12 Ryder pebbles a couple of Xmas's'ssses ago. About £6 from JJB or somewhere - these people just dont understand. :D

I really like the Callaway Tour iX, more or less the same ball as the ProV1x I expect.

I always used Po V 1s until 12 months ago. Won some Taylor Made Burners and now use nothing else. Less spin around the greens but much much much straighter than the high spinning Pro vs. I find its far easier to get the ball close to the flag from the fairway than from under a tree or out of bounds.

I tend to have left to right fade on my drives and long irons. The Pro v's tended to turn this into slice.
Handicap has come down from 14 to 9 since the switch.

When i'm searching for balls on the course - wether they be mine or a playing partners - i'd say around 70% of the balls i find are Pro V1s.

Is this because they are the most common ball, or is it because people can't control them?

Agree about the TM Burner balls by the way... brilliant balls. I use the Burner TP version and my scores are tumbling since switching to them :)
