IMO his age is irrelevant, it's his morals, ideas, plans and conviction to bring change that is important.

A more modest man at the top could be a very good thing and a relatively short conclave must mean he had plenty of backers.

Hopefully he can open up the church to show it does still have a place and can move with modern society and be open about past short comings of both priests an policy.

Time will tell!

Absolutely spot on, the church does need to modernise for sure and I'm sure he'll have plenty aides wanting to through their tuppence in with ideas.

Interesting times ahead, I hope he pays a visit to Scotland like his 2 predecessors but I doubt he will.
