New Forum Idea

Get rid of OOB altogether and just have a golf forum about - the shock of it - golf!!

No no Paul, i quite like the diversity of different subjects! Just dont read the threds of no interest.
I'm always looking for something out of the ordinary. Also, how will we get info or advice on things like, which car, what paint, how to...... etc etc, without the knowledge of this great forum.

How do you find out how many posts someone does on a particular thread?

You can't do it from the mobile view Pete

From the main site view - click on "replies"

Was surprised when I looked at the Football Thread

Nope, still dont get you - idiot guide, required.

If you look on the out of bounds page for example - in the box next to the thread title is on called "replies/views" - click on replies and it brings up a page that shows all that have replied on that thread

Pete, click on the number next to replies rather than replies themselves; I suspect you have been trying to click on the word replies like me with little effect other than cursing……...

I think I am getting to understand how this works. There is a section on this FORUM site called 'Out of Bounds' It's a bit like the spike bar where golfers go for a pint and sandwich after the game and have discussions where they put the world to rights. It's seems now that if anyone takes an active part in the site and partakes (which all members are free to do or not) then they are somehow doing something wrong, especially if they become regular posters. Those that don't want to be involved in posting then criticise those that do and rather than just ignore the thread they keep reading it and get wound up that others are posting things they disagree with (Hope you are keeping up) Now here's where it gets really confusing: Some of the people that want to complain that others are posting too much then go onto a Football thread and do lots of posting and insulting each other but consider that different as it's them doing lots of posting and not the people they complain about.

So, I offer a proposal that may resolve the conflict. If you don't like a particular thread or it's a subject you are not interested in or people posting on it winds you up then don't read it or post on it that others are posting too much. A bit like me and the aforementioned Football thread that I am not interested in so I don't read it.

Just saying....

And just like the spike bar, you'll find some people with whom you can have an interesting conversation, and the club bore who will monopolise the conversation and bore everyone to death.

Just saying…….

Is that the one who goes through his round shot by shot, hole by hole cos he has one point to make , but bores you to death before he gets there ?
