New Footjoys

After my old adidas shoes took the knock last friday, i had £40 worth of AG vouchers so decided to get myself a black pair of Greenjoys to wear until the weather gets better then i'd get a couple of pair for the summer.

I had read all the praise of wearing footjoys straight out of the box etc, so put them on and off i played saturday morning.

Now they fit sound and were comfy to wear, i've ended up with blisters. I've worn plasters when i played sunday and monday and they don't seem to be "wearing in".

Has anybody got any advice to sort this problem out?

Not keen on greenjoys, as they aren't leather. No idea how you break in plastic shoes.

ive just bought the same shoe, first round one blister at back of ankle, next two rounds everything fine, comfy shoe cant fault it. did notice that the back lip of shoe is higher and at angle compared to my old greenjoys(10 year old).

I was going to say something similar. I've always gone for dryjoy and have to be honest have never ever had a problem straight from the box. I'm guessing the harder materials used to make the Greenjoys will need either stretching or working in. Its a shame as AG are doing some of last years dryjoys for £69.99 so fr an extra few quid you could have got a really good looking and comfy shoe

I've got the same ones. I found them fine straight out of the box, very comfy. The only problem i've had with them has been wet feet after every round, but thats what you get for £40.

I wanted a black pair specifically for the rest of this wet weather and didn't want to part with much more than £40 ish because i'll only be wearing them til end of march.

I was always intending on buying myself a couple of pairs of white FJ's for the summer in the next month or so.

Had the same issue with Greenjoys - moved to AQL's and problem solved. Shoes should be leather!!

I bought a pair of the Dryjoys in December from AG (well HID did for my birthday). First time I wore them was in the rain but the feet stayed dry for the round and no blisters at all. These are the first pair of Footjoy shoes I've ever owned after years of wearing Adidas and I wish I'd tried them sooner.

Another vote for Dryjoys here. Very comfy out of the box, never had any blisters and, 4 years on, had to stand in some casual water in a bunker to play out onto 18th. Stood there just waiting for the first feel of water seeping in and ...... nothing. Perfectly waterproof.

A good search of the internet should see you being able to pick up a pair of AQL's for around £40-£45.00 depending on style. I have 3 pairs now, 1 plain black pair for winter use that are permanently fitted with "stinger" metal spikes for better traction. Being all black they are easy to keep clean, just run them under the tap to get rid of all the mud and grass, wipe them over with a towel and leave to dry. A good polish with some Cherry Blossom and they come up looking like new even after 18 months of use.
Have also got two "Summer" pairs (white/tan and white/black) that I have left with the standard cleats in.
All three pairs fitted straight out of the box, no blisters whatseover and have never let a drop of rain or dampness in. I rate AQL's very highly and for the price I don't think they can be beaten.
I bought a pair of Nikes last year and got rid of them after three rounds 'cos they hurt like mad.

Got a pair of AQL and they starting letting in water after a about 4 rounds of golf, after battling on with them for four months (using them weekly) you could ring the water from my sockets in the end.. lol no joke..

I ended up having to pick up a pair of dunlops from my local sports direct store for 20 quid. I have been using these now from mid summer. Ok they do leak but no where near to the level of the AQL's did.

Kindly enough the guys at DG took the AQL's back and give me 40 quid credit whcih i still have sittting yet, in the hope that i will have the spare money together to buy some dryjoys.

I think your better getting the dryjoy's.. But as far as greenjoys and AQL's go in the footjoy range i will be staying well clear would not use them again really poor..

p.s maybe its the fact that i live in N.ireland which tends to have a fair bit more rain than the rest of the UK.. So really there is possibly no greater test for a golf shoe.. Also my course is very hilly which means you tend not to be walking on alot of flat ground, which might affect the seals on the side of the golf shoe.. Once i find a shoe good enough for my job am sure they would do the job for any golfer in the world lol.

the wet feet isn't from the rain. Plastic doesn't breathe so it's all self generated - don't like plastic shoes.

I have LTD's, Softjoys and AQL's - rarely if ever wet feet.

I have Classics. They leak like a sieve, all 4 pairs. Don't really care either, as I don't often wear them in the rain.

I have 2 pairs of dryjoys for winter use. These are 4 years old, and are still fine.

I have a pair of Churchs, but have not got them wet yet, and probably never will.

Nearly bought a pair of AQLs last weekend for £35. Can't really justify an 8th pair of shoes though.

I take a wide fit and they are only doing the new Dryjoys in wide fit in all black and white & brown. I want the white & black and all brown so hope the standard shoe is wide enough

They are due in my local shop next week so am keeping my fingers crossed

They are called Greenjoys cos that's the colour your feet go when you wear them in the wet. Pay a bit extra and get leather. There are some good bargains to be had at the moment.

Fully agree comfotable straight from the box,fully waterproof,and didn't break the bank. Do like the look of the Footjoy Icon's with the red puma stripe,but unfortunately beyond my budget.
