New Football Season - any big fans?

Went to watch my first Reading game in the 1969/70 season. Home to Barrow and we won 6-3. In those days we were known as the Biscuitmen and played at Elm Park. Think we should be ok this season, especially if we can buy a decent striker.

I once scored at Elm park. May have been the Observer cup final u-14's. . Suffice to say a long long time ago.

Avatar says who I've supported since the 70s. :D My eldest is 5 and now understands football and has his own kit. Will be going to games with him this season.

Looking forward to seeing the same style of football this season, but with a harder edge.

Had a good crack at the auld coupon today. 7 teams with only Millwall letting me down... They were playing Yeovil FFS...

Championship is just one league you never know what's going to happen in. It is one of the best for entertainment value in Europe IMO.

Chelsea here, and yes, I was their when we were sh!t, mainly in the Benches, sometimes in the Shed.

Haven't gone as much since taking up golf 2 years but still go to midweek European matches home & away and big away games.

The Futures Blue ;)

Season ticket at Kidderminster Harriers for me.

It will be another great season for us. Roll on the first game next Saturday against Gateshead.

I love all sports and always have. Support many teams in all the sports. Too many to list. Typically underdogs .

Newcastle fan here....was going for 40 years including 27 as a season ticket holder until 3 years ago....just go to odd games now....dissalusioned in general with football and playing golf has taken over from watching footy....rarely watch any live games on telly outside of my own teams games....not particularly looking forward to start of season as surprise surprise we have still bought no one and I detest with a passion Mike Ashley and his cohorts.

Forum name gives it away, and like Fish I was there when we were... not very good. Been going for about 36 seasons regularly, last 26 of those pretty much every home game in all competitions, have 2 season tickets, have done any away games for a while except for the last two European finals.

Sad times being a big football fan but supporting Stockport, not much enthusiasm for it. Haven't heard of most of the teams we will be playing this season. But that's what happens when you sell your club/ground to a rugby loving swear word person.

Bolton fan here :D

Played like slugs today but 45 games to go and weve got a few decent signings lined up i hear

Southampton fan here, think we'll be OK this year but don't think we'll make Champions League.

Really hoping my local team Bournemouth survive in the Championship, think they are punching above their weight in that league but got an excellent manager in Eddie Howe.

You've got a great manager in SOD, everyone at Forest was shocked when he was ousted. Turns out it was for the best though as we (eventually!) got Billy D back at the helm.

Yes, I was there when we beat you in (I think) Billy's first game after being announced back (though not sure he was your "active" manager that day). I thought that was our turning point, but no - we still went down!

Mega glory hunting Man Utd supporting Northern Irish lad here. I hope coach Moyles can carry on the success of MVP Ferguson.

Bristol Rovers supporter - had a season ticket for about 16 years, but since catching the golf bug I've not been able to fit many matches in. Lost 2-1 at Exeter yesterday, but not too despondent as we have 8 of our squad out injured at the moment. I reckon we could be pushing for a play-off spot by the end of the season. :whoo:

Liverpool fan, born within spitting distance of the ground 45 years ago and been to most home games in the last 35 years! I have enjoyed many fantastic seasons and some very low moments, mainly off the pitch.

We are seriously let down by idiotic fans who believe that we are entitled to win things because of our history, simply put if we buy dross then we cant expect to win anything. Suarez is a fantastic player but a total @£$) and the sooner we sell him the better for the club. Yesterday out of 45,000 for a friendly game around 40,000.00 were clapping and cheering someone who has said he doesnt want to play for us, I can understand wanting to go to Madrid but he his now hawking himself round anyone in the champs league,

It would be hilarious if he signed for Arsenal and they then failed to qualify
