Any big football fans in here? In my experience hardly any of my friends/colleagues who are golfers like football and vice versa, us "hybrids" if you'll pardon the pun - seem to be a rare breed!

I'm a season ticket holder at Bristol City and our season starts at home today, so very excited! (Until 5pm at least!)

Massive football fan here and recently caught the golfing bug. Support rangers however in afghanistan so wont be getting season ticket this year. However fully expect them too run away with league 2.

BRISTOL86 you confident of a good season?

Big Dunfermline Athletic supporter here, live in Ireland now so don't get to many matches but try to get over a few times every season.

When I lived in Dunfermline I followed them home and away for years, just glad to still have a club to support after the recent administration and threat of liquidation.

While on that subject can I wish all the best to any followers of Hearts and Coventry, hopefully both clubs can get through these tough times and come out the other side stronger.

Likewise I'm originally a football nut and only recently a golf nut!

You would certainly hope so, you should be rinsing that league! Didn't manage to get down for your friendly against us, though sounds like it was a good afternoon's fun, your fans were by all accounts an absolute credit, freely mingling with us, discussing the season ahead and sharing a few beers in good spirits!

Hard to say with us! We have gone through a massive transformation since relegation, cleared out a host of deadwood and totally changed the direction we're going in as a club. For the last 5 years we've signed over the hill journeymen and been seen as a soft touch for greedy players looking for a big paycheck, and it cost us our Championship status.

We've now got a fantastic manager signing young, hungry players and trying to implement a proper footballing style, like Swansea did on their rise from L1 to Premiership.

But change takes time, and I just hope our fans give him the time and patience required to implement his plan, because change like that doesn't happen overnight, especially with 9 new faces in the squad already!

Home to Bradford today, they've just come up from L2 and are fresh out of a League Cup final which was a remarkable achievement, so they'll have a lot of confidence and momentum. Has the Scottish season started already?

Hear hear. The only people who lose out when clubs go through times like these are the fans. No one wants to see a professional club go out of business.

Big football fan here as well. I played football much of my earlier life and enjoyed it immensely until I stopped when I was roughly 27 due to injury :(. Then took up golf.:) Lifelong Arsenal supporter (inherited from my late Dad)

I owned a Subbuteo set when I was a kid and I'm sure I had a Bristol City team (Arsenal in disguise).;)

Season starts today. Who you got as manager down there now? What were your thoughts on Mcinness when down with you?

Sean O'Driscoll is our manager. McInnes came across as a nice guy but seemed out of his depth at Championship level, some of his tactics and selections were bizarre. Having said that he did make a couple of decent signings so he left with mixed feelings from me.

Ha, I used to love Subbuteo! Funny you should say Arsenal in disguise, our new kit has big white "armband" style chunks on it, and from a distance....

Im a man city fan, im looking forward to the new season im hopeful it will be more open at the top than last year.

I think it will be. I still think Man Utd punch above their weight for the squad they have, and it will be interesting to see how they do without the fergie factor!

Some great signings at City, let's hope MP can get them to play together as a team. Silva, Navas, Jovetic, Aguero is a formidable selection of attacking players!

Ive never been to bothered by pre season matches but waching the new signing play its nice to see some good changes to the team, Jesus is bloody quick down the wing.
I live in south wales and was hoping to get tickets to the cardiff mcfc match butnthey have only allocated 2900 for away fans and they will all go to season ticket holders so will have to wait for the swansea game.

Yeah Dzeko is looking like he wants to play every game and is out to prove he is capable of putting the ball in the net on a regular basis. Its a strong team but I have a feeling its going to be a difficult season for everyone, hopefully we can maintain our defensive record for a fourth season.

For my sins a massive Blackburn Rovers... Just wish the chicken chasers would leave the club alone they certainly are a prime example of not all foreign investment being a positive thing for the club!

Hopefully Jordan Rhodes can have another good season for us and help fire us onto at least the playoffs but looking forward to our opening game against Derby tomorrow, will be listening to it on 5Live as working but will try to venture up to Ewood Park half a dozen times if I get the chance, but more than likely attend the QPR, Millwall etc away games ats its easier travelwise

I've been a Crystal Palace fan forever. I saw my first game in 1965. I have been to most of the big matches, Wembley, play offs etc. I am a season ticket holder this year as I was last time in the PL, it's going to be pretty impossible to get tickets otherwise.

I am also the President of a local football club who have 20 teams this year including girls and disabled teams.

You've got a great manager in SOD, everyone at Forest was shocked when he was ousted. Turns out it was for the best though as we (eventually!) got Billy D back at the helm.

Went to watch my first Reading game in the 1969/70 season. Home to Barrow and we won 6-3. In those days we were known as the Biscuitmen and played at Elm Park. Think we should be ok this season, especially if we can buy a decent striker.
