Looks amazing Alan shame it won't be open to visitors, the only way to play is by staying at the hotel and by all accounts may cost a small mortgage.

Just been reading in latest copy of Golf World (great read by the way)that a new course is about to open on the land next to the Kings.

Apparently it will also house a luxury hotel,luxury homes an the whole development will blow it's neighbouring Gleneagles out of the water.

Backed by the al-Tajiir family that own the Blackford Estate that the development has been built on money is of no object.

No press coverage has been made of all this happening but apparently the track could be open as early as late 2010.It is built on the same sandy glacial terrain as the Kings but has the length to host Championship Golf and is loaded with holes surrounded by natural amphitheartres........could it end up hosting the 2014 Ryder Cup instead of the abortion of a golf course that is the PGA Centenary I wonder???

I am quite pleased with this, I have heard so many stories about Gleneagles over the yrs, its good that competition may appear next door that might just be worth the money.

Played here a few years ago, only cost about a tenner.
Can't get better value for money than that, and one of my brother in laws sliced drives actually went over one of the adjoining fairways at Gleneagles and came back into the middle of our fairway.
