New club launches?

Why is it that club manufacters launch new products (golf clubs) at the end of the season for the northern hemisphere?

Personally, I would have thought that March would have been the time to launch new clubs.

Just wondered.

Christmas market mainly. Also they can then release the 2011 summer version after Easter (well if you are TM)

That was one of my thoughts. That, and that the distribution channels are pretty slow. Or perhaps it gives the retailers a chance of flogging off the previous models over the winter, and have just the new stock for the start of next season.

But there must be a commercial reason for it though.

Then they can make the same announcement again in the new year with no more substance but a new catchy name, and hope nobody notices that is the same old product?

Get used to swinging with 3 layers on and no feeling in your hands, with a gale blowing and sideways rain too.
Not to mention the ice, snow, fog and frost.
