My existing bag gave up the ghost this week so need to buy a new one. Any recommendations as to whats good/bad/ugly?

Needs to be a carry bag as don't use a trolley but needs to have room for all the usual paraphernalia, i.e. waterproofs, jumper, balls, water bottle, etc...

Help!!

If you want one with room for everything the TM Phantom is pretty good and down in price on some websites. Other than that the Cleveland has a lot of pockets. I also have a cally warbird hot which is light and has plenty of room.

Any of the Ogio bags are good, do you want the bag to match your clubs?

Just noticed your location, where you from in South Wales? I am originally form Neath and often back visiting and looking for games.

Not too bothered about matching my clubs - not surprising when have a cobra driver, callaway 3 wood, TM rescue, titleist irons, cleveland wedges and a ping putter!!

HTL, Have just moved back home to Cardiff after spending several years in the east mids, also only back into playing golf over the last couple of years. My club is Radyr, cracking little course on the edge of Cardiff. Always up for a game if in the area. Also happy to try new tracks too.

Look online, see what colours/styles etc you like and buy one. In my opinion, all carry bags today are roughly the same, just differ slightly in appearance. They generally offer the same spec.

Noyhing comes close to the old bombproof hoofers, mine is 13 years old now and still tip top condition.

Thanks for the advice. Am going for cursory wander round local AG this coming weekend. Seems to be some great bags out there. Initial thoughts are on the Ogio bags. but will wait and see.

My only word of warning would be that most major manufacturers won't release their new bags until Arpil onwards so you may purchase a decent bag this week and see a shiny new one that you fancy even more in a few months. If you can hold fire you might see a shiny new 2009 model.

I would stay clear of buying bags from AG by and large as they charge over the odds for them (with the boxing day sales the exception) and buy online.

I used the Mizuno Aerolite 2 and it is a great bag, I wanted more room and pockets and went for the Ogio Grom.

If you like the Ogio bags, The one i have, the edge is awsome. AG had them listed as £120 but they will price match the cheapest you can find on the net.

My advice would be to see what you like first, get the cheapest price on the net and then get AG to price match it.
