Coffee machine broke the other week (Delonghi Magnifica), been grinding and brewing filter coffee since but after the Magnifica it's too much faff, so been looking at new machines. Another Magnifica type out of the question, too expensive and don't use half the feautures, but want something that grinds and brews. Looking round John Lewis at the weekend as they sell what we were looking for, but apparently that model only online. The sales guy was very helpful and turned us onto the Nespresso machines. Not something we'd previously considered, but taking all things into account, seems like a useful idea so have plumbed for one.

My question is if any of you have a Nespresso machine, do any other capsules work in it e.g. Cafe Pod, or Costco (Dualit)? More specifically, has anyone tried other capsules that work?

I have yet to find any that even fit, I use either originals or one of my coffee duck reusable plastic ones, that way I can pick whatever espresso fine ground stuff that takes my fancy. Great machine all the same, just wish it could be a little hotter.

I have a Nespresso machine, the best thing we ever bought quick, clean great coffee and choice. Dont mess with something that isnt broken!

Mine turned up today. Since I hadn't ordered any capsules yet, I splashed the £2.75 for a box of Cafe Pods from Sainsburys. They taste OK, but do seem to "leak" a fair bit of water into the drip tray, i.e. not in the cup......Will try the samples that came with later but I'm guessing due to the slightly different shape, they're not going to "leak".

I have one sitting next to me on my desk - no leakage problems. Which machine did you go for - I have a 'Krups'

I looked at both and got a Tassimo- absolutely superb coffee, hot and no drips, perfect everytime

Order your capsules direct from Nespresso - excellent service. My last order was placed at 10pm on a Sunday it had arrived by 10am Monday.
The direct prices are better than the amazon prices too.

Had a Krupa basic model for 2 years nownv- love it

I dot take milk so don't have the froth attachment

I too agree about wish it could be hotter
I have come to a process whereby I boil the kettle and out boiling water into my espresso cup or big cup, and that heats the cup which makes a huge difference,

I also like long coffees, so I use one capsule to get half a large cup of coffee which I then top up with boiling water and stir. Tend to find that I can distinguish / appreciate the taste differences much more this way with the middle strength blends
