NARRATE your HOLE-IN-ONE!

12 year old me playing Southwood. 10th hole, 166 yards off the yellows.
Nice warm day with firm ground and a little breeze slightly helping.
Had an awful front 9 and miles behind my playing partners, very frustrated and getting angry just want to walk in but my mum isn't picking me up for another 2 hours and was before mobile phones so couldn't call her easily to come and get me.
Pull out a 6 iron and decide to take all my frustration out on the ball so swing as hard as I possibly could... topped it... turn away in disgust as my partners start laughing, when I look back its still going as the ground is hard. Keeps going, heading towards the bunker but the small slope before it does enough to turn it away and back towards the green, as it passes the top of the bunker I think I have managed to get away with it and somehow end up on the green but the ball keeps going towards the hole then just vanishes down into the cup.

I'm in shock and my partners who were laughing at how bad the shot was were silenced, for about 10 seconds then we all started laughing again.

Spent the £1.50 I had on me on a couple of Cokes for them when we got back :)

After that hole the round was back to the rubbish I was playing before

I think what is even more rare, is that i have been playing golf since i was 12 years old (so 30 years now). I've reached a half decent standard over the years.

And i've never had a Hole in one. FML.

For those who haven't, describe your closest attempt.
Many years ago when I didn't play much, I was probably only about 18 or 20 or something like that. Was playing a crappy nine hole course with my old man. The last was only about 80 yards long probably. Pitching wedge off the tee, thinned it awfully but going straight at the flag. Bounced before the green and rolled onto it at pace. Missed the hole by an inch on the right of it, then continued to roll off the back and into a bunker.

In more recent times the closest I've come was leaving it about 3 feet away a couple of times.

Having not played for 6 months, just testing out my injuries, no time on the range before hand (as a precaution).

The 1st on our 9 hole course 150 yard Par 3 , tee is about 60 foot above the green, the river is about 50 yards from the tee.

My tee shot completely thinned just about landed 2-3 yards over the river, a couple of bounces then 90+ yards run along the ground and in to the hole.

5 iron swept majestically off the tee into the setting sun...

Me: "Lost it in the sun. where'd it go?"

Stranger I was playing with: "Rolled through the back of the green."

Few minutes later after arriving at the green...

Me: "Can't find it anywhere.... can you check the hole"

Stranger: "Definitely through the back mate... maybe its settled in the rough"

Me: "There is no rough for it to settle in, I'll check the hole."

Stranger: "I've got 20:20 vision and it definitely went long"

Me (after looking in the hole): " I hope you can count better than you can see"

I 'LIVE' narrated ChrisD last hole in one. He'd just pulled my pants down in a winter league match and we're on the par 3 14th, I called him a name at the top of his back swing, only for the ball to pitch 2 inches from the hole and pop straight in :(

On my brother in law's first trip to a golf course [par 3].

He tees off and hits a massive hook across two fairways, scatters the folk on the 3rd green who watch in awe as the ball finishes off in their hole.
Three holes in one shot......that takes some beating.

"bloody hell" I whisper to my playing partner as our opponents had just took the 1st hole and then proceeded to put their tee shots to 3ft and 5ft, on the 135 yard par 3. "lukey we've got to stick one of ours in the hole" my partner replied. We both had this feeling it might be one of those rounds.
Wind was light - I pulled Ping G10 Wedge from the bag and with one smooth blow the ball took off. Sailing towards target, beautiful little baby draw and its too long but a gift from the gods, it pitches on the bank and proceeds to roll down online with the pin - it knows its destiny, it knows its home, its HOME! pings the stick and drops into the hole! Scenes of rocky winning the title from Apollo - da na na na na na na! Jumping for joy and going absolutely nuts!
