So for those of you who have made an ace or come close (I suspect there's far more of the latter
), I invite you to narrate it in exquisite details. For those who haven't, describe your closest attempt.
I'll go first.
I lined up to tee off on this par 3 on a dewy Saturday morning, tentatively selecting a 7 iron for a slightly downhill 178-meter tee-off into the wind. There were no hazards in play, only fairway and a couple of bunkers, and the pin stood in the center of a flat, ample green. I lined up 5 meters right of this and swung smoothly. I felt the contact was great and the ball sailed just where I'd lined up with a slight draw instigated by the breeze. The ball bounced softly, and then a second time - off the pin - to come to rest 4 centimetres from the hole. Easiest bird ever
Can't wait!
PS: I really don't mind the long reads, for those who really want to indulge their prosaic impulses here!
