Well, after Kevin Na's 16 last week, my regular playing partner hit a 17 at our 6th hole today!

He hit a great drive and a good second to the par 4 until it took a "visitors bounce" into the front bunker and from then it was mayhem. He never once in all 17 shots fail to execute a proper shot but, to be fair, his chipping and bunker play is not good (as you would guess for someone who played off 9 until rising steadily to 16 h/c)

Contrast this to yesterday where, in our 4 bbb game against the Captain and Pro, he was 1 over (gross) after 11 holes!

I signed his card for a 109 nett 93 and had to line half the field up with their shoes and socks off to count it!

The most impressive thing was that he signed his card and put it in without N/R'ing - good for him!

fair play to him for putting his card in,i know alot who wouldnt, should give you a fair bit of ammo for the next few rounds

9 upto 16?

How can you become so bad?

Andy

By not practicing and not playing as much and not being able to chip. When he was off 9 he hit the ball as crisp and pure as anyone I have ever played with and hit gir's like a tour pro.

Must have lost it big time. Could he chip when he got to 9?

No, but he rarely needed to. His problem is the first move turns his hand and and then lays the club off very flat, he does it really well with the irons and woods but its virtually impossible to chip like it. He also had the yips and putts with a broomhandle which he uses from anything up to 60 yards out if he can
He's pretty liad back and it doesn't really bother him if he shoots a big number but he is a great 4bbb partner as he can shoot several holes low off 16

Fair play for putting the card in and smiling through the pain. As someone who has gone through a short game nightmare for the last year or so he has my sympathies. I'm finally getting to grips with the linear method I've been using and beginning to get some degree of confidence back although it is fragile at best. I'm sure he'll have the last laugh

I noticed that Kevin Na had bounced back and was on the first page of the leaderboard at the end of the Heritage yesterday - tell your playing partner all is not lost and you expect a win next week :D

He's not too worried HJS and certainly not prepared to put the work in like you are. He knows that off 16 he's a handful as my partner in 4bbb games and, who knows, one day he'll have a chip free round and get cut!

Credit to you for the effort to get over your problem
