I sold my SLDR on EBay a couple of weeks ago &, as usual sent it via MyHermes. I know that the maximum length allowed is 120cm & that the price changes above 1kg. So I cut down the box to 119cm & weighed the package. It was 1.07kg. I had another less substantial box so I cut that down & weighed that along with the contents. It weighed around 980g.

I sent it off & received am e mail a day later saying that the parcel exceeded the weight or size limit, not specifying which, & that they wanted another £10.80 by way of a penalty. The e mail also said that the parcel wouldn't be delivered until the penalty was paid & that if it wasn't paid within 7 days the parcel would be "disposed of".

Not wanting to delay delivery I paid immediately via PayPal & straight away started a dispute via the PayPal Resolution Centre. MyHermes have not responded & have until 16th February to do so. I don't think they will other & I'll get my money back.

As an aside, I messaged the buyer & asked him to weigh & measure the parcel. Got no response so telephoned & left a message with his wife. Still no response & I notice that this buyer has never left feedback for anyone. So I amended his feedback to read "Don't bother leaving feedback for this buyer, he won't leave any for you!" What a tosser!

I think your reasonable annoyance with MyHermes spilled over into unreasonable ebay feedback.

Someone has just suggested doddle. Seems cheaper than herpies and they sub to the big boys like dhl dpd etc.

Dealt with herpies twice and they lost one package and the other took a week longer .

Yes I know I've spelt it herpies, because in my opinion they are the worst courier out there and the name is more fitting

My mate sent a golf bag with them last wk.
When he views tracking details it is still at depot, but they can't find it.
He's refunded the buyer & is currently trying to claim for the bag.
Their communication as been shocking.
Personally I've never had s problem with them tho.

You reckon? Someone with 39 feedbacks as a buyer and has never left one for any of the sellers. If everyone behaved that way EBay wouldn't work. I even messaged two buyers asking for feedback. One responded immediately and the other didn't. I've left this kind of feedback before. If I saw it myself I wouldn't leave anything for the buyer until they had done it for me.

I never understand why people don't leave feedback. Ebay is pretty much a free for all without it. You've got nothing to go on. How long does it take to leave a few words?

Some people just don't do feedback. I do but tolerate others who don't. If MyH hadn't upset you you probably wouldn't have been as annoyed at the buyer.

Ditto, the seller on eBay sent me the tracking details after 2 weeks they tried saying there was no such parcel. When I provided them with proof of shipping and they're tracking number they went on to say it was deliver at 7.30pm signed by myself. Considering I was a rep having it delivered to my office this was total ball-axe, after three days they said they were sorry but just didn't know where it was.

An absolute shower of **** that shouldn't be in business.

I sold 9 pairs of golf trousers on eBay last week posting with MyHermes. I paid additional to have the parcels collected. They emailed the collection date - stayed in all day, no pickup. Contacted them via online chat - cannot find number to call direct, was promised they'd be picked up by 8pm........ Nope! Waited next day too, again no pick up. Eventually I took the parcels down to the local collection point. Put a complaint in asking how I was going to be reimbursed for the additional collection fees, they offered me 10% off my next order....... Useless company.

I just stick to Royal Mail now, £12 to post a set of irons and they were there next day. For the sakes of £2 I don't see the point in messing around.

I know dhl have drop and collects around so may try then next

I've used Hermes a good few times and I've never really had any issues with them, I can see how it can go wrong with them as they don't seem to be as resourceful as the likes of DHL or that
