Well iv ditched the 910's in favour of a Ping K15 Driver and 3 Wood....
I know some may slate me for doing it and probably say that its maybe a step in the wrong direction but im after consistency off the tee and i think these may well be my golden ticket...
It wont bother me one bit in the slightest if i pull these out on the tee and i get a few sniggers... Because if the range hits and flight are anything to go on ill be the one laughing walking off after 18..

Now im not going to hammer the 910's.... On the flipside they are really good clubs and iv played really good shots with them but truth be known iv always struggled with my driving.... Its a part of my game that if i can overcome the negativity of it i know i will reap the rewards...
Iv been working hard the past few weeks tightening up my fade and i just couldnt get the driver to tighten itself.... The hits were out of the middle and solid but no accuracy or natural shape to them at all....

Iv mulled over this decision for a few weeks and even again thursday night at the range i alternated between my 910 and the 12 degree K15.... There is no comparison whatsoever with accuracy..... Baby draws and straight shots with the Ping... Aim up the right and its right to left all day long......
Whatever type of swing i have the K15 just seems to work with it....
I know its probably bordering on training wheels but hell if it hits fairways and i know where i can aim confident in the knowledge that the ball will end up there then...

I know heaps of people that play with the looked down upon rolling of the forearms through the ball type release but i cant time this properly with any degree of consistency.... Plus i dont swing the club down the target line as long as some do...
It was something that my Pro had me doing to get the feel i suppose of what should naturally be happening when a ball is properly hit with a draw... But for the life of me i never settled into it....

I play a nice little fade now and im happy out with it..... You can argue the point that no club will fix a swing fault and if you asked me last year i would have agreed but whatever problem i have that prevents me from having a consistent shape and shot pattern with a driver is definitely minimized and helped by the Ping.....

Iv always been honest on here with my game and to be fair if these dont work ill be the first to hold up my hand and surrender but a few rounds with these will tell a tale or 2 im sure...

Why would anyone snigger? If a club works for you then great and it means nothing to me what people play with - couldn't give a monkey. The K15 driver is awesome and so forgiving it beggars belief - seems a no brainer NOT to use one if they do the job (as well as they do)!

Edit - I can hit a fade with it too and sometimes to order!! Fortunately our course demands a nice draw until 17 and 18 but both of those have plenty of room to aim right and bring it back!

I got mine this morning Amanda..
So i havent had the benefit of course play yet.. Just been hitting a 12 degree one on the range...

I bought a 10.5 one this morning.... Traded my 910's for 40 euro with the Pings so i got a decent deal...

As an aside if you hit a fade with yours do you open the face at address or weaken the grip.... My course needs a few fades off the tee but i could get away with a straightish shot also....

I'd like to try a 10.5 as I do launch it high but generally long (relatively). To be honest to hit a fade I firstly stop trying to hit a draw, stand a little bit open and just imagine a cut spin off the face. Doesn't always work but is usually effective or at least reduces the risk of a strong draw of those tees which would bring trouble with that shape...water on 17 or a very long approach and sand on 18.

This is probably the only downside that i see for myself.... I gave up trying to draw the ball after my lessons as it was just destroying my game.... I was able to get the draw from 7 iron sometimes 6 iron down to wedges.... The odd time with a 3 wood if i closed up my stance but i just wasnt confident with it.... I never really saw the game right to left and even when i was drawing the ball i always managed to see a fade in my mind..
So i know hit a fade from the inside which i get plenty of distance from and i can stand on a tee confident that i know what shape i can hit the ball and where i can aim....

I guess a few rounds with the Ping and ill soon figure out a way to get a baby fade going..... Im giddy at the tought of standing on a tee knowing where my ball will start and roughly finish with a driver in my hand...

Try and buy a K15 on ebay. Then try to buy a TM driver or even any other Ping. Tell me which brings up less results.

I'm getting a K15 10.5 pretty sharpish.

I don't see a problem!

My brother-in-law picked me up a 9 deg Ping G10 for next to nothing to put into my Ireland bag for when I visit them, and it was so much better that the Titleist, I swapped them over; the difference in dispersion is marked.

I've left the 910 in the Ireland bag now, and it'll stay there til my swing improves.

Use what works, not what's popular.
