My Swing photos ..

Took some of the advice that the_coach gave him.. (Rookie mistake alert) Unfortunately decided to implement it during the monthly medal rather than try on the rAnge first. Mixed result as I had too many swing thoughts.. Keep hands straight, don't rotate till I go past the legs etc
1) topped the opening tee into OOB.
2) my irons started flying longer.. I hit my 8i about 135y, on our 8th I had about 140 to flag. Gave my 8i a good heave and saw it go spot on but then fly past and come to rest on the cart path beyond.. So easily travelled about 150y
3) Nearly shot an eagle after hitting the flag about 190y downhill with my 5i - a club I almost never take out of the bag
4) First time on the green this year on out 200y uphill P3 with my 3hybrid - another club I don't use to tee off
5) Driver was very unpredictable but when it got up, would always go to the right - either blocked to right or just fade.
6) did not get past the ladies on 15th resulting in a sharp intake of breath from the playing partners

Finished with 30 points and HC went up by .1. Nevertheless was a good outing and all credit to the_coach. Looks like a few things wip. Also need to look at the stiffness of the driver shaft (I have a standard stiff shaft on my Nike Covert)

I'm no expert but that swing looks really good for a 18h/capper, I also play off 18 and your swing is far better than mine.

How come your not lower? with a swing like that I would have thought you would of been playing off a low teens H/C

Think you should easily reach your H/C target, good luck.

To go with the notes & set up drill I sent earlier.

Here's a drill to work on about the note on the upper body moving ahead of center at the sam time the lower body does.

Do the drill a few times with the 8i, then switch up to the driver, driver setup as discussed earlier, & with just an easy 75% effort, don't try to kill it, swing through feeling the same motion as in the drill. Swing a few times with the driver, then go back to the 8i repeat the drill, then switch back again.

You should get to feel it's a little easier to keep your upper body head & back as your arms hands & club swing past your upper body through the strike feeling your right arm straighten through strike & you get that extension then up into a balanced finish.

A little on the same note, an easy drill, as long as you do it right! To help keep the upper body back through impact so you've not let it move forward to make you arms come up, flip hands & get the collapsed chicken wing left arm past impact.
You get to stay upper body behind so your arms hand & club swing past your upper body to get good extension through the ball then up into a balanced finish, Again when you do this just do it an easy 75% swing speed so you can better feel the sequence.

Plenty of reasons but comes down to consistency (both physical and mental)
1) I can make some poor club choices
2) Choosing hero shots rather than safe
3) I am not sure what a 'Mental Postion A' or MPA is or how to get there
4) Still learning to manage the course...

Having said that, I am starting to slow down my backwsing and tempo and that helps a great deal. I just need to remember to do it every shot. I am planning to do an MOT on my sticks so hopefully they will behave. Trying to implement the_coach's advice has been useful.

PS: I am one medal away from being a 19 HC... (oh, is that MP-A or MP-B )
