This will probably bore the pants off most people but I'm writing it anyway!

I played today and decided to record every shot I hit for the first time to see where my game needs improving. I've read on here a few times about recording stats and think its a good idea.
This was my round.

1st 328yd par4. 4- hit fairway, Greens Side Bunker, up + down
2nd 150yd par3. 5- Green Side Bunker, 2xbunker shots, 2 putts
3rd 386yd par4. 4- right semi rough, Right Hand side of Green, up + down
4th 186yd par3. 4- GIR, 3 putts
5th 405yd par4. 5- right semi rough, 60 yds short, chip on, 2 putts
6th 175yd par3. 4- left trees, chip on, 2 putts
7th 413yd par4. 5- hit fairway, 100yds short, right hand side of green, up + down
8th 340yd par4. 4- left trees, 15 yds short left, up + down
9th 365yd par4. 5- left trees, chip out, hit green, 2 putts

10th 213yd par3. 4- left trees, hit green, 2 putts
11th 129yd par3. 5- left trees, duff chip, chip on, 2 putts
12th 375yd par4. 5- hit fairway, hit fringe, chip on, 2 putts
13th 388yd par4. 5- right trees, duff shot, hit green, 2 putts
14th 320yd par4. 4- fat tee shot, left side of green, up + down
15th 501yd par5. 5- hit fairway, duff shot, hit frine, up + down
16th 173yd par3. 4- short right fringe, chip on, 2 putts
17th 316yd par4. 4- hit fairway, hit green, 2 putts
18th 372yd par4. 6- right trees, chip out, duff shot, hit green, 2 putts

+15
par 3's + 8
par 4's + 7
par 5's level

FIR 5/12
GIR 2/18

31 putts
So thats my round shot for shot, sorry its not a very concise or quick way to record stats but I'm a virgin!

This was a very typical round for me of late and I'm fairly happy considering my hcp is 19.
I book a lesson on chipping + putting just before I went out but looking at these it seems my time would be better spent trying to hit my 4wood straight (I dont use a driver), or trying to hit par 3 greens!!

Sorry if that was the most boring post ever, I nearly fell asleep writing it! however it is nice to see my whole round written out in front of me.

Any views or advice on where you would go from here or what you would work at would be much appreciated.

cheers
Ade

new wedges lol, your gir stats are well down but we are high handicappers. and you managed to scramble round. whatb happened in the bunker 2 shots

short game doesn't seem bad.....
GIR and FIR are the areas to work on based on these stats.

However, with just a 4 wood you are already leaving a longer iron in to the greens so I would seriously look at a fitted driver and you might find the FIR and GIR stats improve

haha, I would like the wedges but tbh I think thats just my liking the look of them and possibly buying on impulse! plus I cant really afford them and looking at these my wedge play seems ok!

not boring mate, it’s good to analyze your stats.

I normally record, my drives and putts only. I should do GIR, but don’t.

I think you may be right, I've recently sold my driver as I was skint if I'm honest and now regretting it a bit!
However my new course is VERY tight and was getting into trouble with the big dog and chipping out sideways a fair bit more when I used it and that was costing me a lot of shots!

Looking at these stats tho I think I will try and find the same driver as I had when I can afford it and work hard on it!

NEVER sell your clubs if your skint only when you have no further use for them. although there is a nice cobra s2 for sale (not mine)

I know mate, lesson learnt!!

I'd like to get the exact same driver as I had as I was fitted up for it so I know it will have the right shaft for me.

It was a Titleist 910D2, 'ilima 61 stiff shaft.

It varies which club I use from 3hybrid to 8iron today. The stats obviously dont show the whole picture, but a couple of shots I had to play a short iron over the corner of a dogleg ie. 7th as I couldnt see the green after my tee shot!

oooooo im getting fitted for the 910 d2 but think im reg

All of my clubs are regular but only been fitted for the driver. Tried a stiff shaft once that was a fair bit heavier and it just felt too stiff n heavy for me! I dont have a fast swing but the stiff shaft just seemd to get better results.

Ademac, if moneys a bit tight just now have a look at the Mizuno MP630 its going brand new for £70 now as the new MP650 is out next month. It has the Fubuki shaft and is a seriously good driver, its 440cc as well so doesnt look huge.

Where from mate?

Thats the programme I think I will look at using, seen it mentioned a few times on here.
Do you record stats? What do you use?
