My personal golf trainer on nintendo wii

I think its a very good idea and not a bad effort for a first release.

think i'll wait for them to develop a more club like hand controller as there is no way you can make a proper grip on that and that's going to effect your swing greatly imo.
Also for me it's the length, weight and feel of a club that gives me a sense of rhythm and feel etc.
So maybe in time it will be a great piece of kit.
I have a swing trigger in my swing that relies on the resistance of a soled club on the turf to start me off on the correct path and tempo, i couldn't do that with this.

Also, that balance board is nowhere near wide enough for a proper stance. Might be ok for a sand wedge.

In the uk it's 99.00, not sure if it was released at the perfect time to be a Christmas gimic or if it's actually any good. Going to speak to my local block busters and see if they are going to have a rental copy

I do agree jeardley, the first release could see major improvements in v2.

Maybe the £100 would be better spent on another 5 lession session

I initially dismissed this as no real use, given the reasons above, but after reading a few reviews, including a pretty in-depth one in another mag (GI), i'm tempted to give it a go. It's clearly not perfect, but the info available looks like it could really help identify some basic swing problems (of which I have many!!). I guess you need to be signed up to the Leadbetter method of teaching though, which I know many don't particularly like.

I've looked through all the high st stores today and couldn't find a copy. Does anyone know if it's actually available yet?

Just found the same link on Amazon. I'm guessing they're not selling through other retailers to protect their pricing. I've got a £40 gift card from Game I was hoping to use, which made it a lot more attractive (and reduces the loss when I sell it for £20 in a month or so!!!)

From some of my friends in the US, I've heard that this isn't great.

The consensus was, if you want to improve your golf, get proper lessons, if you want to play a game, get Tiger Woods or the New(ish) John Daly game.

The balance board is far to narrow to start with, good for a bit of fun on tiger woods etc but no real use in helping your real game. I've tried the golf on the wii fit 2 which only really helps with weight transfer!

This may be better if they released a version for the xbox's kinect, tho frankly it all looks a bit gimmiky to me. Also, not sure if i'd want to spend £100 on something unproven (such as Leadbetter's teaching technique :))

I'm not a Leadbetter fan at all, and I don't particularly like his "method".

However, whether you're pro or anti Leadbetter, I would say his teaching technique is pretty well proven!
