Just back from another cracking trip to Machrihanish playing the Machrihanish Open on Saturday and Machrihanish Dunes today. Played alongside Bunkers and TheCraw which as always was enjoyable. Some nice shots played by everyone but also a few not so nice ones

From a golfing point of view I had a decent score, off my new 16 handicap, on Saturday shooting 89 (nett 73) par 70 around Machrihanish. Managed to keep the same ball whole round. A few silly shots thrown away with a few three putts also. Finished 33rd in the comp and Crawford was38th ;) who also had a nett 73.

Today at the Dunes I played some of my best ever golf reaching the turn at 5 over which included a double bogey down the first. I was 7 over at the 17 tee and slightly pulled my driver and the ball was never seen again

I have now played to my handicap in the last four rounds in a row with 3 of them in a comp. This is something I have never done before :)

Both courses were in fantastic nick and I cant wait to get back again. I enjoyed the company and the craic was good. The whiskey was also cheap

Just a few photos of the course.

One of the Dunes greens thats blue! It was damaged by salt spray from the sea and getting replaced laster this year. It was a strange site on the course :D putting on a blue surface.

Fantastic weekend I do agree.

Loved my net 73 with 4 f*@~#+g double bogies, 13 pars round Machrihanish hitting my irons the best I have hit them for years and I finish 9 bloomin over, four yip four doubles. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!I'm still choking and could cry thinking about it. The positives I have to focus on, the positive being I didn't quite manage to snap my driver despite a few efforts.

Loved Machrihanish and Machrihanish Dunes today. Loved the fact that I ordered a round of whisky only to have to turn round to Bunkers and say "I dont have enough money on me!" The £9.50 for my Singleton malt was a tad pricey, add in Bunkers at the same price, it shows how cheap and nasty that immitation Irish tap water is that you ordered!!!

Back to today, I can't explain how much Fabian has improved as a golfer. His game is night and day compared to last year and I wish I could adopt his attitude on the course. That said he is also a jammy lucky Irish sod!

I also believe it was 40 points to my 33, however I'll let you have a little white lie, only I'll be telling your kids the truth! :)

Right need to get back to my facebook chat with Stacy! ;) ;) ;)

Thanks again for a great weekend boys. The courses, company & scenery were fantastic. Fabian, as Craw said, your game is in great shape at the moment. Keep on with your positive thinking & practice & you can easily chop a load more strokes off of your h/c. Craw, you played some very good golf this weekend. Had it not been for a few loose drives on Saturday you could have easily taken a top 3 spot. Take the positives!

As for my game, I'm not sure if the combined efforts of Bob Rotella, Bob Torrance & Mark Roe could help me at the moment. I played some of the worst golf I've played in the past 2 years. Very frustrating & embarrassing, sorry for putting you both through it. Think I need a wee rest from the game before taking some emergency lessons to get rid of aJ few demons that have crept into my game...

He should maybe hold onto his clubs a bit tighter, might stop them slipping from his hands. ;)

Keep enjoying your golf now cause the winter is not far away and you can work on it then.
