My golf trip

Good day to you all

I will be travelling in Scotland prior to the 2012 Open venue at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club and I want to visit Saint Andrews and then drive to Prestwick to play some courses on the west coast as well. I´m not sure if I have the budget to book a fancy 8 day golf trip with all the best courses and I was more thinking of hiring a car and stay at B&B´s. Do the best courses usually only book tee times as a part of some package deals or do I have a change??

If anyone has some good ideas for these locations I would be thankful.

I'm in the process of writing a review of the 10-course trip I've just finished which had five rounds at St.Andrews courses, then Carnoustie, Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes, Turnberry and Southerness. If it doesn't run in Golf Monthly, then it might ... ahem... run in another publication who have expressed an interest in buying it!

Hi Farmer,

There is a deal available to play the 3 preswtick courses St.Cuthberts, Prestwick Old Course and Prestwick St.Nicholas.

Not sure of the exact price as its not something that is advertised greatly but I will find out. It saves £'s on booking individually.

Not sure if the deal will still be on in 2012.....
