my first handicap

6 x lessons
1 x set new irons
1 x new driver
1 x new putter
1 x new course membership
and
3 x competition cards

my shiny new handicap is..................... 14

which overall I'm pretty pleased with considering the gale force winds I played in to get it

onwards!!!!!!

i didn't have any particular target in mind - but feel that I "left" too many shots on the course.... even in my "best" qualifying card I lost 3 balls - still, i guess we all have a handful of "if only" holes on our cards!!

anyway - all things considered, I'm well pleased

Congrats on your first handicap, good start! Not bad considering you lost 3 balls, shows you can par a fair few holes!

Only thing to do is keep doing what you are doing but on those "if only" holes try and play for a bogey rather than par! Par 4s short off the tee, lay up an pitch on, par 3s get safe and par 5s get and stay on the fairway

I did play a fair bit as a kid, but never took it seriously enough to hand in any cards

gave it up after Uni & since then have spent my summers playing other sports..... picked up my clubs again (15 years later) just before Christmas & here I am - totally hooked!!!
