That's tidy compared to many ive seen- like my own.

It's the ones that look like their having a go at whacking a mallet to make the bell ring on a fairground that scare the willies out of me

the 23rd Man. At the moment, in the backswing you wanna get a bit more weight onto your right side.
so when you keep your weight flexed on your right knee at the top of the back swing. your club position would be better at the top.
it looks good from the side angle tho good swing.

I don’t look too bad mate

But your right arm comes away from you body too much

Are your graphite shafts right for you? You seem to have quite a quick swing.

Just changed to graphite as I get tired easily.

MVP, I'm working on a rotary swing so don't want a shift the right too much. The BS position is a result of overactive hands early in the takeaway. When I get some video of the changes I'm making you'll see the difference in swing length. :)

I play off about 14 at the mo, but have been as low as 8.

Nowt wrong with it. Its simple up and down. Why do people want to overcomplicate golf swings?

Looks good to me. Easily solid enough to shoot under 80.

I've had a look closely and paused it a few times at the crucial moments......don't knock it, very good.

Leadbetter wouldn't approve of your plane/angle when you set the wrists, but to my mind it's a good example of a one plane (in the making) swing.

Particularly not-ugly on the way down, looks great!

Chin up mate.....find some consistency, and you'll be back to 8.

Do a youtube search with the name madandra then you'll see a swing!

Stumbled across this today, not stalking you or anything honest!!!

Nice and fluid, a lot of swing for a 7 iron though.
Ive got a far shorter swing and til get good distance and accuracy out of my shorter irons, Ive got to get a clip up, i have some footage floating around somewhere.

Tomo,

i played off 8 when I was fully fit and healthy. Now I have chronic fatigue syndrome and missed 5 years golf because of it. I'm trying to make my swing more efficient so I don't tire so easily. :)

Yeh, sorry about that, maybe all the more reason to just go out and play. That aside, have a look at Hogans swing, especially at the begining......you dont need to bend the club round your neck to hit the ball far.

23rdman. Swing basics look good. Maybe try a steadier, one piece take away, just turning the shoulders and core- keeping the "triangle" of arms and club, and make a shorter backswing. Feel like it's 3/4, believe me it wont be. I've said this before that keeping a towel or head cover under your right arm will help the flying elbow. As i said basics look good just needs to be sharper, tighter and more dynamic. think of acceleration through impact...

There thats only 20 more thoughts... sorry

Thanks guys, all good comments and much appreciated.

As you've pointed out, the basics are ok, but it's too long and loose.

It's a mental thing as much as anything. One of the reason I went to graphite is I lost over 3 stone and am now about 9 and a half (same weight I was at 16!). I subsequently lost some distance and I find it tough to get it into my head that a solid efficient swing will be better than a long loose one. (Good spot Mandandra)

My takeaway is the thing I'm working on the most as I totally see this as the route to the overswing. I know when I practice pushing down slightly on the club as I take it back I'm on plane and compact - it's just so hard to trust this swing as it feels so damn short! When I see the difference in the mirror though it's just so much better it makes it worth it.

I've just taken a lesson with Chuck Quinton so will let you guys know how that pans out.

i'll get some footage of this swing change soon so you guys can see the difference.

Gasp, you're right about impact too. I think I've been so concerned with BS thoughts I'd forgotten to swing throughthe ball. After seeing this video I went to the range and worked on really releasing the club. Much better striking :)
