Went and bought this Srixon Deluxe cart bag as my main prize for our society Captains Day at my home club in Bangor.
The white one, its a fantastic feeling padded bag.

As an added twist, I am getting Rory McIlroy to sign it when he is back on Tuesday.

Im after a little feedback from fellow society members as this is my first captaincy in anything before and I hope this to make the day a memorable one.

If I could be honest, I wouldn't get the bag signed but buy a decent (but not overly expensive shirt) and get that signed instead. That way the winner of the bag will be able to use it in all weathers without the signature fading and the shirt would look great framed especially if and when he goes on to great things.

Just my two pence worth but the bag itself looks sexy especially the black/white/grey version

agree with Homer - dont get the bag signed as the recipient might feel less inclined to use it. Why not get a signed photo of Rory wit the bag? Or a lock of his lurvely hair?

Brendy - can I join your society? Or at least give you our Captain's phone number so you can offer him some advice. Lucky if we get a few drinks on the tee these days...

Top looking bag and a fantastic prize for a society win. Nice one. Brendy for President!

Cheers Molly, being completely honest, I wasnt sure if it would be a suitable prize as most usually throw in a putter or club of some description but Id rather give something a little different. The sig will be down one of the panels that wont be rubbed or touched and will be done with a good permanent ink. Ill maybe ask him for a pic too of him signing it.

Whats the difference if he signs a golf bag or a hat or a shoe etc, its his personal signature, not a recommendation.
Ive already spoken to his coach and its fine.

Cheers jon (did you get my pm a few days ago?, definately over tomorrow for a few hours to pick it up), Im actually going to buy one to carry myself as my MD bag is running out of rounds rapidly with wear marks beginning to open up on the back where it makes contact with my belt.
The material is similar to boxing glove stuff, its very plush and soft, and still costs under 100 quid.

It doesn't matter what he signs but from the point of view of someone who pays him money to represent them, why would they want him sticking his name on something else....if though his coach has says it okay then I doubt there will be a problem....

I'm with Homer though, I shirt would be better as then you can frame the shirt and use the bag....

Got the PM brendy, totally forgot to reply as read it as I was nipping out. The motor sounds ace by the way.

Would have liked to have got up to meet up but sadly it is last day at work before holiday and I sold 7 cars this weekend so lots to do in the office before I go.
