My Caddy Pro - iPhone - anyone tried it?

Got it tried it. Best free one out there that I have used

Better than freecaddie as it gives you an overhead and the ability to map hazards lay ups etc. It costs £8 for the freecaddie pro version to do this

One disadvantage is that the label telling you your GPS signal strength/accuaracy is red for none, grey for medium and green for strong. I found it quite difficult to tell the difference between the grey and green. FreeCaddie uses a flashing Red/Yellow/Green LED on the display for this which is a bit clearer. Turning the Auto Lock off should prevent any serious signal drop outs but make sure your battery is fully charged if you do this

Not any more than 2 yards out on my course compared to our yardage markers and I mapped it myself.

Not used any of the Stat stuff so can’t comment on them

As said in another thread it is illegal to use this app if you have an iphone 3GS or 4 as it has the built in compass

Stuart, are you saying that you can map my caddie pro youself?

i played a course last week, played 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th then got " no more holes mapped " message.

shame because the courses ive used my caddie pro on has been spot on. i tend to turn the GPS off to red between shots to save battery, and i find i can get 2 full games from one charge and thats using the stat manager and 4 player score card.

Most phone based golf GPS apps give you the ability to map courses yourself.

Yes just go to the website and folow the instructions. There is a video showing you how its done.

Used it and found it good though the google earth images were out of date meaning some of this years additions don't feature. Simple to use but the illegality of it and the dependency on a consistent 3G signal at my place meant I went with a dedicated unit. T
