I was watching the footie when this came (I was on fast forward skipping the chatter) There had been so many ads for the start of the F1 season on Sky Initially thought it was just another so rewound to see the news.

Great commentator even if he did get it wrong sometimes but some the greats do like Coleman.

He was a lovely bloke who I’ve managed to speak with on a few occasions. The amount of work he put in before a race was simply unbelievable. He was one of the nicest people you could meet. A true gent. He will be missed.

Same here and seconded.

He also was happy to talk, used to pop in on us to talk tyres and understand how it was going to play out and key issues.

Sad to hear this. I don't watch F1 now, but I used to when I was a kid, and his voice was completely synonymous with it. Even when he fumbled his words, it just felt like part of his charm rather than him being incompetent - just him getting caught up in the excitement of it. He's had an epic race to complete 97 laps, as it were. A real legend.
