Played what has to be the wettest course I've ever played , it never closes as part of the Burhill group apart from snow . Seriously if I had to pay what they do in membership fees I'd be packing up

most in the clay belt will be, anyone who plays a links, heathland or sand based course would be horrified, they dont get that much mud on their shoes in a year

We're on clay 2.5 miles away as the crow flies and wouldn't get a 1/5 of that after a round

youre luckier than those on the clay belt round here, be surprised if many arent that bad currently, the phrase farmers field springs to mind

Last two rounds I've played on different links courses. They didn't even need a clean after.

Minchinhampton Common tomorrow, I wonder what that'll be like.

Either way, the missus played St Pierre today, I bet she leaves her shoes for me to clean!

Brown shoes might be a better choice for winter.
What are your trousers like after a round.

I would not be playing golf on a course in that condition.

You say that but it depends on where the mud is

We have areas of the course that get muddy but they are between the tee boxes and the fairway .. so you just walk through .. the fairways , greens and tee boxes are fine. So the actual golf side is fine

Worn white spikeless all winter, no real issues. Still white and clean.

I got these a couple of years ago and they're fantastic for the winter: Adidas shoes

Wore them on Sunday at Princes and they came off clean, links golf really has so many positives

It was a joy walking off the course each day and not having filthy shoes.
Plus, my 29 and 23 point haul over two days was another reason it was a joy to walk off the course!

I've had black shoes before but as soon as you move into shorts season they look ridiculous with shorts and white socks. So I only get white ones now.

In fairness though this is from the days where I only had a couple of pairs of golf shoes whereas now I have about 6 so maybe next time I will treat myself to a black pair.

My shoes got pretty bad yesterday. My course is one of the better draining courses in the area and it’s just so wet at the minute. Forecast is rain for next two weeks also, this must be one of the wettest March on record

Took a pair of black spiked shoes out ready for the winter, not had to touch them once this past season.
