Not that it helps, but this is precisely why I buy uncoated clubs. I'm always lured in with the good looks of the satin finish clubs, but they always look terrible quicker.
Mpt10 satin black wedges - black finish issues?

I have the mp t10 in 58* and yup mine came with a warning sticker on the shaft saying that the finish would mark up easily and wear off. I don't normally like my clubs looking dirty and old but i quite like the look of my wedge now some of the black has worn off..... the middle of the face is like new though!

I saw on one of the Christmas posts you went to AG to get MPT10's, bet you would have got the black one if they would have had them.

A) I went to ag
B) they didn't have a 58, they only had 52/56/60 in stock
C) the attitude of the assistant wasn't the best
So on the above basis
D) they were purchased from direct golf.
Who incidentally reduced the price from £110 for two to £80 for two in their Chrismas special.

Had a similar issue with my Cleveland CG15 Oil Quench wedge. After a couple of shots it looked worn out. Been using it nearly 8 months now and it looks about as bad as a club can look but it works well for me. The black pearl finish on my other 2 still look pretty new after tha same amount of use.

Oil black finishes never last. It is just the way it is. Not much point complaining to Mizzy, they'll just think you are nuts.
On a bright sunny day, it is the best finish to have though.
On a similar note, I wonder how the black pvd finish that is the trend for drivers will wear? Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Murph, after this experience I wouldn't buy colour finished clubs again.

I had a Snake Eyes hybrid with a black finish like the I15 driver etc and after a few weeks it started looking crap too so I don't think these will look good for long.

I got mine from my local range who promise to price match anyone. I reserved 2 wedges and went to pick them up. When I got there they were priced up at £89 each. I asked how much for the pair and he knocked £10 off. I then infomed him about direct golfs offer of 2 for £110, his face dropped and he said "we payed more than that for them" he did match the price however. They are staying out of the bag until my vokeys have had it though....yeah course they are. Anyone fancy 2 vokeys 52 and 58 deg let me know.

No way. I like 'em natural!
I will say that I *might* have got for the MPT-11's in the "black satin" finish as they look the nuts, but they didn't have them. And the silver finish ones look just as good.AND I'm glad I paid the extra for the MPT-11's. Having used them today, they are incredible!
I'd tried the MPT11 a few months ago amd much prefered the 10. Might as well make the most of the old groves while i can.
