Motocaddy M1 trolley upgrade to M3

I have a M1 electric golf trolley. The handle and screen need replacing.

If i buy a circuit board for the M3 model and handle would it work like the M3 version as other than the handle i can not see any difference between the models..

Is this wishful thinking or is there more tech involved with the motor and wheels

The programming could be different, I'm sure the M3 has a button either side of the dial the M1 doesn't
