Hi Folks
First post, so bear with me. But ......
I have a Motocaddy S1 Digital, about 5 years old, and I'm now on my second battery. After placing the battery on charge a few weeks back, I heard a "pop" as I was leaving the room, and on turning around, was greeted by significant flames coming out of the (Motocaddy original) charger. I immediately unplugged it, and disconnected everything.
However, following this incident, I have been unable to get any power from the battery at all. No lights on the control box underneath, and nothing at the handle.
I've had the battery tested, and (not being an electrician) it had "12.75v across the terminals, and is showing 5Ah, so should be OK". I've been and purchased a new charger (non-motocaddy) which indicates the battery is fully charged. I've also cleaned up all the terminals and connections on both the battery and the trolley, but still nothing.
My question is, am I missing something, or has the battery been fried? All the information I have would suggest it's OK, but I'd be interested to hear from anyone else with similar problems, or an opinion on the information above. I don't want to invest in a new battery if there's a simple fix.
Cheers
