I lost concentration and had 6 putts yesterday on a tricky green at my club, dreadful i know! Who's had worse than that?

I've played some holes very badly but have to say I have never 6 putted!!! 
Once nobbed one on a par 3, got on the green 3 ft from the pin for 2. Walked off with a 5 !!!

3 putting from 3 feet is worse than my 6 putt because my first was 20 ft off the green and another 30 ft to the hole! Haha

If the first was 20ft off the green then id doesn't count anyway so it was only a 5 putt from 30ft.
Still not good!
My worst is a 4 putt but I love putting just have trouble getting to the green!!

We have a green with what could be described as a double McKenzie step i.e. step up from front to back but also stepping up from right to left. With the pin just at the top of the step from front and side, the current record is 8 putts.

Why would anyone putt from 20ft off the green?!
My worst is 4. Lag putt wasn't a disaster but then 3 putted from about 8 feet.

wasn't having the greatest wedge day to be honest 
it was very short fringe grass i putted over and put it about 15 feet past! so i pretty much 5 putted from 15ft!

Why would anyone putt from 20ft off the green?!

They don't have the confidence in their chip shots?
I dont like putting from 1FT off the green let alone 20FT.... 4 putts is my worse though

So, you were 20ft from the green and putted 15ft past the hole!!!
What are your thoughts on the stack and tilt method for putting? :rofl:

i have great confidence normally, but it was my first round for a while so i was quite rusty!

I can't think of anytime I've done worse than 4 putts including any 'putts' from off the green...
I'll quite happily use my putter for good distances from off the green if its the percentage shot... Particularly if in a comp...

I'm sure I must have had a 5 putt at some point but can't remember exactly when.
I'll 4 putt every so often, usually when I'm not really concentrating because I've made a mess of the hole already.

5 putts from a couple of feet for a 7 on a par 3, worth thing was it was a decent chip so was looking at an easy par.

I've putted INTO a bunker.
Playing at Kinsbarns near St Andrews, Caddy recommended putter off the tee on a short downhil par 3!
