Obviously started on the back of the cricket yesterday.

What a finish. You literally couldn't have made it up. And the manner in which the result was decided just seemed to drag it out for as long as possible! Absolute hell to have to go through as a fan, such a fine, tiny margin between ecstasy and misery.

I'm struggling to recall another sporting event that made me feel the way the finale of yesterday's cricket did. For me personally, I think it was the most nailbiting sporting finale I've ever had to sit through.

But I'm sure there are many others! What are yours?!

Cricket again, 2005 Ashes, Egbaston. Kicks yesterday into touch, imo. That was way more important, again imo.

There are many other cricket matches that have gone that close but because they don't involve England they don't stick in our memories.

(great shout by IanM, the 2003 Rugby World Cup)

ManU V Bayern 1999, mad finish and visually horrible goals (but they all count) had people jumping about. Not a ManU fan as such but there hadn't been an English winner of the European Cup/Champions League since 1984, was a big deal at the time I recall.

90 + 5 mins: Man Utd win at Sunderland but City are still playing. And City despair turns to delirium as Sergio Aguero scores a last-gasp winner. It is utter heartbreak for Man Utd's fans at the Stadium of Light, though, as news filters through of the late drama. Game over. City win title.

Oops - @Orikoru beat me to it :)

I've got the ring tone.....it's brilliant !!!!!

Michael Thomas at Anfield 1989 :)

Good call, I remember it well, they showed that game live up here which was unusual for the time, was in a student halls at the time and the communal tv room was packed out. I remember Steve McMahon giving the 1 minute left finger to his players and then that sort of slow motion few seconds as Thomas ran through on goal to score for 2-0 and the title. Must've been mad if you were a Gooner.:D

1989 Tour de France - Greg Lemond beating Laurent Fignon in the time trail on the Champs D'Elysees by eight seconds after three weeks of racing.

And one that most people hear will not know but was truly epic - the greatest single game of baseball ever played …. Game 6 of the 1986 World Series between the Mets and Red Sox.

Medinah. A magnificent comeback. I actually went into the kitchen to make coffee just to relieve the tension.

Is that the game that is referenced in the movie Good Will Hunting?

Seeing Germany equalise at 89mins made the following 30mins a tad dramatic/nailbiting...

Still, I believe, the highest viewing numbers for an event televised in the UK...

Is this the 1966 WC final?

South Korea’s Golden goal in 2002 WC
Ghana vs Uruguay in 2010
Lemond in the TDF
CL Final 05
Gerrards Goal In 06 FA Cup Final
Rugby WC Final 03
4x100 Relay In 2004 I think
4x400 Relay In 1991
